Daniels took some battle wounds last night

Got his face bloodied a little.
Warrior.

"I came over to the sideline and it was bleeding," Daniels said with a chuckle when asked about his facial cuts and welts. "It is what it is — a battle scar. It's going to swell up a little bit. But you know, it's football."
Warrior.

And after the break he came out swinging.

Yep, I am sure he will have some soreness but that is football and he battled.

Guy was throwing his body around for score’s and first downs.

He’s small but he’s definitely not a bitch

Absolutely, he's a warrior. The problem I see looming over the horizon? LSU isn't even in the meat of the SEC schedule, and already he's nicked. Remember, Daniels is the leading rusher on this LSU Team. You want your QB healthy, so he can manage the game, not running for his life because protection from your O/L keeps breaking down. Sooner or later. Not good.
But still, LSU should be competitive in every game. I don't see them being blown out. If Kelly can clean up some nagging problems, mechanics stuff. Stuff like QB pass placement to receivers and chronic mental breakdowns by Special Teams. Notably, field position presence on punt receiving. The running game showed definite flashes of potential. The O/L has talented youth. Barring injuries, they should improve.
LSU is like the skinny kid in middle school who runs up against the school bully. His nose is bloodied, and keeps getting knocked down. However, he refuses to quit and keeps getting up. Each time he learns how to fight a little better. He has a lot of heart.
8-4

What an athlete. His leadership already had the team and coaches. But his toughness is starting to become something to keep an eye on. He reminds me a little of Tebow. Different players, but similar in the frustration and the what ifs, but intangibles off the charts good.
He takes those hits and just keeps smiling, Hes a special player without a doubt.

I wish he’d stop smiling after he throws a terrible pass. Reminds me of Aaron Brooks.

I was also bothered by this, so started paying more attention to it. I don’t think he’s smiling. I think it just looks like that when he’s thinking about something. You can see it when he’s getting the play. Same expression. Looks like he is smiling, but it’s not really a smile.

He’s tough! Bottom line. And I can respect the hell out of that

I also find the “my bad” gesture annoying when it was immediately crystal clear to the million people watching that it was “your bad.”

You still crying over Daniels being the starter?
Posted on 9/18/22 at 11:32 am to Nix to Twillie
Of course you get battle wounds when you run on half the pass plays and dive on a 8 yard run on 3rd and 15

Looked like his hip was hurt on one of his runs.

I agree. People react differently when they make mistakes. We all know Daniels is far from perfect, but he’s obviously a tough competitor. I don’t think he’s laughing anything off out there.

JD took a good helmet shot on his hip in the second half.

Late in the game after a run. He got up slow and it appeared to me that his hip area was hurting.

Dude probably thought damn these boys from the South hit hard. Conference level is at a whole different level than at Arizona State.
Daniels came to LSU knowing all to well the SEC isn’t the Pac 12. The physicality is obvious to anyone that watches TV. I’m sure after his first practice in pads the reality set in. I love it. Hard not to respect a young man wanting to test his skills against some of the best players in the country. Football isn’t for sissies. If you don’t have some bumps, bruises, or cuts then you are either sitting on the bench or not trying.
