The commentators last night acted like we’d have to win the tournament to be guaranteed to host a regional. Are they close to correct?

No, they may have been talking about Ole Miss.

That was before last year and yes you’re correct, now a days they say everything’s a true 1-16 no matter what.

Even if that is the case (you would know better than I would), I have to think that money-making matchups are at least a subconscious motivation for the committee which would inform seeding.

They are and I wouldn’t be surprised to be matched up with MSU HOWEVER I think that we can all agree that both advancing to Omaha would better for TV’s across the country.

Peterson specifically said prior to the game we still had a work to do to lock up a regional host. I don’t think he’s right. I think the Auburn win locked it up.

If they are looking at money and viewership I don't think they pair LSU and MSU together. Both fan bases travel well so they would want to spread that out instead of wasting it all in one ballpark.
