D1 Baseball Projection: 2 Seed in Las Vegas

Also worth noting Texas AM are projected the 14th seed.
Copy and pasted from D1 site:
In terms of other hosts, there are two changes in the 9-16 range. LSU and North Carolina drop out of the hosting picture for the time being. The Tar Heels dropped out after losing two of three at home to NC State. And as a result, the Wolfpack, which finished the ACC regular season with 18 conference wins, entered as a host. LSU won two of three at home from Auburn but dropped out as a host this week after Texas A&M picked up a huge home series win over Arkansas. The Aggies have a sizable RPI advantage over LSU, 14 as opposed to 21 for the Tigers, while the 7-13 road record is troublesome for LSU as compared to a 10-9 mark for the Aggies. Both LSU and A&M could end up hosting with strong showings at the SEC tournament, while the other interesting team in the Top 16 is UC Santa Barbara. The Gauchos still don’t have a win against an RPI Top 50 team but have an RPI of 13 and a sensational 44-7 overall record.

I'm convinced we need to do more this week than simply win tonight.

Doesn’t look like it’s helping

Florida is actually the first of the last five in the D1 projection so who knows what a loss would do to that projection.
But you’re right. AM definitely needs to lose to help our case.

D1 had us hosting last week, we go 3-1, and are now getting sent to Vegas. Conversely, the week prior, we were also slated as a host, went 1-3, and remained a host. Kendall also said yesterday in his weekly chat that LSU was still looking strong to host so this new release doesn’t make a whole lot of sense just following the logic of its author

I'd go out to Vegas

based on the D1 write up LSU dropped out due to A&M winning the Arkansas series. That is all good and well, but the one I have the problem with is UCSB. UCSB doesn't have a single top 50 win the entire season.
UCSB strength of schedule is 184

Here’s the thing, if it’s between us and A&M (Kendall saud both could host btw), well we have a comparable SOS, had a better SEC record and beat A&M h2h
I also have a problem w UCSB. They’ve played no one. Send them to UCLA or Stanford

We need to boost our RPI into that 16-18 range somehow. That blown lead Saturday was huge.

the biggest thing A&M has over LSU is the road record, but other than that LSU leads in almost every other metric.

I expect to be on the road if we don’t do well in the tournament. The committee absolutely loves to give LSU the screws when they get the chance

It really depends what the committee is looking for. If they’re looking at RPI, we are screwed. If they’re looking at SOS and Q1 wins, we’ll be playing ball at the Box again.

Kendall also graduated from A&M. Little bias but he’s usually pretty fair pertaining to rankings.

Knew we needed 2 more wins as of Sunday morning. Maybe if we swept Auburn we’d only need to win tonight, but now we’ll need a win tonight and at least one more win to feel comfortable earning a host spot.

#2 seed at Texas Tech.

I really feel like we're going to host, unless SC destroys us tonight. SOS and Q1 wins should be enough.
I think we win at least 2 games in Hoover, though.
Aside from hosting, we need a fairly good pairing for supers if we're going to get to Omaha.

Right? Why be the #16 host and get paired with Vandy or UCLA in the Supers? Rather be a #2 at a low national seed and take their place, so we don't have to play those guys until Omaha.

I’d rather not go on the road given our pretty unimpressive road record the past two seasons. I’d much rather take my chances hoping the super we’re paired w has an upset

It could be that the guys choosing the regional hosts are not using the Metric System.
