CPM said he just watched him throw off the mound for the first time since the SEC Tourney. Said he looked like his old self, and had no issues after throwing.

Also had high high praise for Hess and Marceaux. Said Hess will be the Friday night guy he knew he would always be this year. Said Marceaux will jump right into weekend rotation.

That’s pretty awesome

Hess is a beast he may be a Closer in the pros if he can’t develop a 3rd plus pitch but most pro closers who played in colleges were starters in college.

He spoke highly about his change up. Said his fast ball was between 93-95, his slider was still good and his change has really developed.

It should be if they remain healthy. CPM said they should be 10-12 deep with quality arms.

If hess is friday and marceaux is a weekend guy, what role does that leave for Hillard? I am assuming Walker is back in the rotation now right?

Hilliard is a middle reliever that can eat up a ton of innings l

I was thinking he could be nasty behind Hess.

We should definitely put Hess back in the closer rile so that we make sure to only get 30 innings out of our best pitcher instead of 100.

Chris Sale is arguably the best in MLB with this arsenal.

Hilliard coming in around the 6th inning with that nasty curve will be insane for opposing hitters after seeing Hess, Walker or Marceaux's stuff.

Midweek or setup.

My preference would be to put him midweek to keep him stretched out for the postseason but him coming in in the 8th would be very nice

Can't wait for this season. Hopefully Walker is the same ole same ole with more tools. Maybe throws a bit harder is what I'm thinking. He's already got plenty of pitches. We will have those 4 and that's not even counting Cole Henry, Nick Storz, AJ Labas, Mathew Beck, Devin Fontenot, Trent Vietmeier, Caleb Gilbert and Todd Peterson.

Who have all proven to pitch at a high level at one point or another except for Henry (who I think will be a good one). Then we have a plethora of freshman talent with outstanding promise so some will emerge and the others can focus on gaining strength and adding tools to the toolbox.

We also have lots of proven offensive and defensive fielders coming back with more freshman talent competing for a spot. Easily one of the deepest if not the deepest team we've had since CPM has been HC IMO.

Even the 2009 squad. We had lots of starting talent then but not this type of pitching depth or proven starters with promising incoming talent combined. This will be a very deep team. I'm excited to see it at work.

Hopefully coach doesn't overuse him again this year.
