I hated to listen to Les Miles during brief interviews...dude sounds like a bumbling IDIOT! I would never be able to listen to an entire game with him as a broadcast member. Bad move if a network signs him.

Hell no. Half of his sentences don't even make sense.

There are still those who think it was/is an act, a contrived persona purposefully done to give others a false sense of security.

Even Les at one point said he often spoke in nonsensical terms to "protect his players".

I never agreed with that take. I think Les was always pretty much what you saw and heard, and take that as you will.

Can't help but thinking of Shakespeare when he speaks...like maybe he should have been living in that period of history where folks would better understand the shite he spews out.

No. This is why people need to not take guys like Rece, Kirk and Mark May for granted

I guess that depends on who they pick as his translator.

Les-speak was definitely an act. He knew what he was doing, and it was part of his quirky sense of humor. He's a very sharp guy. I understand that many people may not have appreciated it, but he put an effort into creating his Les-isms.

I'm not so sure how well it would work from the broadcast booth though. As a coach, you get a lot of latitude and the broadcast guys accept the fact that head coaches often will try to be deceptive and not answer the questions, especially if the non-answers are entertaining. But it would probably get old pretty quick in a color guy or analyst.

Hos daughter, Smacker, speaks very coherently. I don't quite get what's wrong with Les.

At least his words were coherent. Sentence structure wasn't good for those of less intellect.

This was a matter of fact. All you have to do is get him 1:1. Super nice guy and not once you heard the BS. I despised him as a coach and wanted him gone.

Why do you think he was so good at recruiting?

I lost all respect for him, even despised him, after the National Championship game for reasons very well known.

He has to constantly search for incoherent phrases. The guy can't be an idiot be he tries very very hard to sound like one. No tv network wants that.

I would do like I often do, turn the volume down just enough to drown out the announcers but loud enough to hear the crowd and the sounds of football.

BTW reading one of his quotes was equally frustrating.

It's not surprising that this fan base has people too dumb to understand it was an act.

Les spoke eloquently when not speaking about his football team. Catch him speaking to a group about anything other subject or one on one, and you would understand how intelligent hie is.

Of course, people have a bias or will look for anything they can to hold against him.

Les has his flaws, but he always did his best to put LSU in a position to play for victory.

He always played the players the coaches thought would give LSU the best chance to win.

A lot of the media use to act and pretend as if his stupidity was all an act to be humorous because they couldn't believe that someone like that actually was a head coach, but no, it was all Less Miles' true persona.
