This SI.com writer thinks it's possible

Still, no matter where they’re seeded, the Tigers have made it clear that they are a legitimate Final Four contender.

If we win out and win the Sec tournament, we will likely be a 1 seed. Otherwise, not a chance

It’s hard to believe how fast Wade has turned the program around. Just another example of how critical coaching is.

Unlikely, but winning out helps.

LSU does have two losses to teams that are vs below 50 teams

Won’t happen this year nomatter what we do. If we’d win out and win the SEC tourney we’d definitely deserve it but the powers that be will never let that happen. If that scenario played out the 4 number 1s would be Duke, Virginia, Gonzaga and the big 10 champ. The only way LSU will ever get a 1 seed in basketball is if we’d finish a season at something like 31-2 or better. The bias in college basketball makes what Bama does in football look like a joke.

It’s not like Tennessee was some blue blood, and we have a very good chance of getting a 1 seed. Not everyone is out to get poor LSU

Win Saturday and we will be in the conversation for a one seed. SEC tourney will obviously be the determining factor.

Of course recruiting is critical as well but talent without good coaching only goes so far. LSU fans should be well aware of this.
