Ben Taylor wins his first professional tournament this week at the Web.com tour Club Columbia Championship. Sam Burns tied for 2nd. Both players well on their way of securing a PGA tour card for next year.

LSU players finished in first and second on a Web tour event? That’s pretty awesome.

Will always remember Taylor sinking the putt to win the National championship.

Still wish Burns had stayed for this season.

What's the average payday on the Web.com tour?

I saw that Ben has $130,000 ish already this season...so they do alright for the “minor leagues” of golf I’d say

Lowest payout if you make the cut is around $1200-$1500. Winner is usually in the $100k-$120k range. You only make decent money if you're in the top 20, otherwise you're barely paying your expenses. For reference, lowest payout in a PGA event is around $10k-$12k, winner gets $800k-$1mil+

The top 25 on the Web.com money list at the end of the season get their PGA tour card for next year. There's also the Finals, top 25 in money after the last 4 tournaments gets a tour card, but the PGA players that lost their card also compete in the finals. Andrew Loupe and John Peterson have had to go this route before because they weren't high enough on the PGA money list. Some of the guys that have been on the PGA tour for years find themselves not getting a card and playing on the Web.com tour too. The talent level on the Web.com tour isn't bad, but the funds and perks are much lower than the "big league". The main goal is to either get a battlefield promotion by winning a few Web.com events, or use all your sponsor's exemptions on the PGA tour to earn some real money or a chance to keep playing week after week.
