So me and a few friends who are all LSU students have never attended a College Gameday before. We want to be right in the front and make this a day we won’t ever forget! What time would y’all suggest to get there so we can be in the front? Also tell any cool Gameday stories from past times they have been here! Oh and #FreeDevinWhite and STTDRefs

You need to either camp out or get there at like 4 am

edit: I feel like it'll be crazier than normal due to the circumstances.

Plus camping out with college buddies could be really fun.

Camp out the night before

The reason the net is now up behind the show is because LSU fans hurled golf balls at them for picking against the Tigers

Get there at dawn, possibly earlier.

Camp out the night before. I'm a recent grad and participated at Camp on the Ramp for the Oklahoma basketball game and it was an absolute blast. Start a big group and make some noise and the coaches may actually bring you free pizza and shite.

Or alternatively don't make a big deal because I'm an adult now and traveling with my GF for her first gameday (she's a greenie) and we want front row spots but can't get there until like 7

ETA: Cool stories...I've been to 8 game days in total and by far the best ones are the ones AT LSU. My first ever one was 2012 Alabama as a freshman and I'll never forget walking from my dorm at 3-4AM across the Parade Ground in the fog, seeing all of the effing Batmobiles laid out and all of the tent skeletons ready to go and then suddenly out of the fog these piercing LEDs come through driving slowly across and its the Purple and Gold Lamborghini setting up to be placed on the tailgate. I'll also never forget seeing one of the sign monitors go over the fence to chase down some kids who had a sign that said "Hugh Freeze Came Early in 2014".

Be raucous and cheer loudly when Tigers are mentioned and shown and boo loudly when our opponents/rivals are shown at any time. Be lively, it makes the show better. Make funny signs, I'll attach my PSA about what is and isn't allowed below. It's ok to be as raunchy as you're comfortable with for the signs if you're creative about sneaking it in. I'm about this close to buying training golf balls (foam) to pass around to people to throw at Corso if he picks against us. The entire reason College Gameday has protective netting was because the first time they came to LSU in 1996 against Alabama they picked Alabama and all of the LSU fans threw their signs at the stage and Corso was actually hit in the head with a golf ball.

ALSO. DO NOT go to FEDEX or a big print shop to print your signs. It'll cost you a fortune. Go to the art and design building on campus and use the print shop there. It's open to all students and has great prices. We (as COAD majors) used it for years for gameday signs every year. I believe photoshop 2 and similar products are free online to play around with.

Those saying camp out are probably correct. Or get up and out there by about 4, when some of the campers may be sleeping.

If you do camp, and are sleeping until 6, others will show up and get in line (you won't be holding your spot with your tent).

I couldn't do it today, because it's going to be a LOOONG arse day, if you stay going all the way through the game.

Also...just FYI, it's not really all its cracked up to be. You can't bring alcohol into their little area. It is crowded as frick, and you can't move. When you have to go piss, it's probably game over for your front row spot.

That being said, go have fun with it.

If you want to be in the front. Be prepared to be there at 4am at the earliest. Then once you get in, dont expect to leave or even move until around 10-12. Youll be standing in one spot for hours
I did the college gameday experience one time and that was it for me. It was fun though

Yep. I've done it three times. Only the first time was I interested in being in the front. After that, I wanted to drink my beer and not be packed in like sardenes.

If it's hot, it's even more miserable.

Why don’t you all make a road trip to Jacksonville this week for Gameday and take your #FreeDevinWhite signs and keep the movement going while there’s still time?

This Will be the game day that will reset the high water mark. Will be historic. I highly advise camping out. Any word on possible locations? Going with the quad again? Parade grounds? The PMAC Ramp was the GOAT with the Valley in the Backdrop, but that option will be never be available again.

PMac ramp is the best location. If that's not an option, parade grounds is the best choice. The quad was horrible.

Why is that? I'm sort of pulling for it only because it's real close to our tailgate at the Indian Mounds.

I was there on the PMAC ramp in 2003. Got invited to sit on the bleachers they had set up next to the stage, which were half LSU and half UGA fans. As we were inside of the protective netting, we could not have anything with us, not even a water bottle.

Just didn't have a good feel to it. Was a very cramped up space. Hard to see things from certain spots.

The parade grounds is wide open. You can stand back far away and see and hear everything.

Its also not very far from Indian mounds btw.
