Different scenario this year. Last year, his only chance at winning the regional was to pitch Robe in the 2nd game against us.

Because he didn't pitch him the first game. Hence, my post.

I agree, but it would be very hard for Tony to deny his son a matchup against Nola.

If postseason started today, the rotation would probably stay the same: Robichaux, Baranik, Boutte. The bullpen is deeper this year with Wilson, and Harrison.

He would be wise to not pitch off this year, I agree.

Pitching off was the only way he had a chance to win the regional last year. Aut gave him the best chance at winning the winners bracket game. Everybody knew Wilson or Boutte couldn't beat Nola.

Going 0-2 or finishing 2nd is a regional is the exact same thing; you lost the regional

Are you sure about that? Nola would factor more into a regional than super,

When you look at all the teams we could have to travel to for a Super Regional who would you rather play then ULL?

Pro's: No travel, very close for the fans, already played them once, get a shot to knock them out of the postseason

Con's: We have to travel to ULL where they like to hit the ball deep.

So just to clear things up...if we go 4-2 and at least win 1 or 2 in the tournament we will most likely host a regional?

Kendall Rogers Chat:

After this disappointing weekend, assuming they're out of the national seed realm of possibility, what does LSU need to do to lock up a regional host?

Yeah, it was a disappointing weekend for the Tigers out at A&M, but that series was so close, it really came down to the Tigers not being able to execute offensively with runners in scoring position. LSU will be in very good shape to host if it wins its remaining two series, which is a good possibility

no one's talking about how damn close we came to sweeping this past weekend... A&M got lucky IMO

and when you have one almost-automatic win every weekend, you deserve to be #6 in the country bc that means you only have to split the last two to take the series and that's what it's all about

If a&m's rf could see LSU would have scored 3 runs total
Saturday and sunday. A&M was the better team.

From Kendall Rogers chat:

I still like LSU as my fourth SEC host with Florida, South Carolina and Ole Miss as the others. I also think Vanderbilt and Alabama are heavily in the mix. Vandy still has South Carolina, and that could go a long way into determining who gets a host site in the league. That's still a wide open race outside of Ole Miss and Florida at this point, who both look to be in very good shape ... Don't see an SEC team traveling as a No. 1.

I wouldn't expect Missouri to help out anyone.
