Has there been any buzz about him attracting NFL scouts?

He’s deadly accurate and has a good not great leg. Seems a lot of nfl teams would be interested in someone who’s automatic from 50 and in and pretty good from 50-55

Who knows.

Daniels Carlson was as good as any kicker I’ve ever seen in college and he was cut by the Vikings in like week 2

I would think he would be drafted. Can’t imagine him attacking anyone.

I'm not sure he has the leg strength.

Making an NFL roster as a kicker is ridiculously hard. There's only 32 that do it and they can play the position with little to no dropoff into their 40's. I always thought Josh Jasper had a great chance and I don't know if he was ever even close.

Agree with this. I think he would struggle in cold outdoor environments, but who knows. NFL kicking is a crapshoot

Why don't you list us all the kickers who were drafted in the past 5 years.

He had a great three years in Massachusetts before coming to LSU.

I'd love the guy to make it but his ball is so low compared to NFL kickers. And the ball just doesn't explode off his foot like those guys either. I hope I'm 100% wrong, but I just don't see it.

In the old days of teams carrying a short distance kicker and a long distance kicked I think he would succeed.

In this day and age, i think you have to have a 60 yard leg and we've seen Cole struggle (with distance) beginning at the 50 yard range. I would be pleasantly surprised if he even made it on a preseason squad.

Don't think he does.

These NFL kickers are clearing the cross bar easily on 55 yarders these days. Its pretty crazy how good they've gotten.

Avery Atkins has the leg. If that kid learns to kick FGs well, he'd be a fricking weapon. And he'd be great on fakes because of his athleticism

This. Cole's trajectory is really low compared to NFL kickers.

There have been several Groza award winners who have never even been signed by an NFL team.

One thing I was thinking about is more and more teams are going with analytics and going for it on 4th down on their side do the 50 and passing up those 55+ yard field goals... which gives Cole a better shot at making a roster if most of his kicks would be from 50 and in

This. Cole Tracy is crazy accurate and he’s a breath of fresh air given our recent special teams. But I don’t know that many NFL teams are going to get excited about a guy who has an effective max range of 54 yards. There’s just too much competition. I hope I’m wrong, though.
