Another kid from the 2018 class how many does that make?

Is this the center? If so, he was very undersized and needed to bulk up. There was almost no chance of him playing last year because of that (other than emergency).
This is odd unless the staff has already given up on him or the kid is just very unhappy for other non-football reasons.

What a disaster of a class in the trenches that is turning out to be. Essentially means we cannot miss on evaluations in the 2020 class. Those guys have to come in, be good, and play fast.
NOT looking at you Chasen Hines. You good af

That one hurts especially with the kid from Nola leaning toward georgi

I need a drink. Wtf is it with LSU not being able to get quality linemen? Who the hell put a curse on us?

HAS to be a staff decision. You don’t transfer as a redshirt freshman center backing up a guy in his last year.

Geez. That's a head scratcher. I thought he was gonna be pretty good

Yea I’m hearing he’s just not very good atleast to play at LSU. Ika has made him look bad

The team has lost four DL from the 2018 class. (Two if you want to say Rosenthal and Hines were projected OL the whole time.)
That leaves three DL from the last two classes. Not a good look for a DL coach who is trying to rebuild the trenches.
Got to hang on to that monster DL class they are building right now.

Does that mean he’s actually leaving?

Why do we take these kind of people in the first place? There was no way he was ever gonna be any good.

People are going to mis-identify this situation. They will say LSU did a poor evaluation of the kid. But I don't think that is the case. One thing that happens when you bring in better and better recruiting classes is the kids you bring in as freshman are a lot better than the ones you brought in as soph's. LSU brought in a pretty good class of olinemen in 2019. Now they have been on campus Smith may see he is going to be delegated to a 3rd string role. I'd rather see the kid stay and beef up and wait his turn. But he may just not be good enough to compete well enough with the 2019 class. And this may be a sign that LSU is bringing in a top rated center in the 2020 class and Smith is moving on now instead of waiting another season. At least it isn't another dlineman this time.

He’s one of those 3 star linemen y’all hate. Can’t call him a “quality lineman” and say 3 stars suck as well

Is it ever ok to criticize the football coach?

quote:Cole is a center and the only center LSU brought in last year was also undersized. Charles Turner is going to need a couple years to bulk up. He is only 245 right now. Also as of now LSU is losing ground with Van Pran, the 2020 center prospect. The staff must see a current guard as the future center.

This really sounds more like a “processed” issue when you look at the totality if the circumstances. Let it marinate a bit before jumping to conclusions.

yeah I could see Hines sliding in at center.
also at this point they have no choice

I am so tired of hearing the term “transfer portal”.
