Since we appear highly likely to be ISO an all new coaching staff, the discussion about Freeman picking South Bend over Baton Rouge makes me wonder. What coach will be interested in bringing their family to a crime infested shithole, deal with banana republic politics, a meddling trial lawyer Governor using the football program as a political pawn, a woke CRT pushing loon for a boss, a compliance department determined to undermine the program, and hurricanes disrupting your season every two years? Is this the plum job we would like to think it is?

Considering the last 3 coaches all won a NC here, yes I'd say the job is desirable.

With the kind of money a HC makes, he can avoid the shitty parts of BR for the most part. That said, if Orgeron is fired I fully expect there to be pressure to hire a black HC

Dude, you ever been to South Bend? It's not a rose garden, if you get my drift. Much of urban northern Indiana is a shite hole.

I used to travel there several times a year for work. It’s certainly not all that (try Michigan City nearby if you’re brave). That said, Baton Rouge is rapidly sinking below that low bar.

You might remember a different Baton Rouge. The one I grew up in, went to public school in. This is NOT that Baton Rouge. I lived in Houston, then the Northshore, moved back of my own accord 20 years ago. Now, can’t wait to get out. It’s gone downhill pretty fast. A lot of that at the feet of Judge Parker irreparably ruining the school system leading to white flight, leading to our current state.

Doesn’t change what school desegregation did to ruin community schools, and therefore our community. That is the root cause of most of what is wrong with Baton Rouge today.
