Coach O's Depth Chart: Offense [Image]
Posted by Scotcho Libre on 6/10/20 at 10:06 am1110
This is the list of names that Coach O gave for his Depth Chart during his interviews on Off the Bench over the last several Tuesdays. Yesterday, he talked about the Running Backs. Begin listening at the 7:30 mark.
Interesting Tidbits:
• Coach O stated that he really liked what Chris Curry did last year, but he still considers the top 3 Running Backs as starters.
• While it is true that there is no longer a Full Back in this scheme, nevertheless, those who were previously used as FBs continue to line up at the "H" (off the line of scrimmage) rather than at the traditional Tight End position.
• He has not really given a complete lineup at the Quarterback position. All this really means is that he hasn't wanted to proclaim that either Max Johnson or TJ Finley has the upper hand on the other.
• People keep saying that Peter Parrish is out of the picture, but he's still on the roster and Coach O has a way of redeeming players who commit themselves to the team.
Other Notes:
• Numbers to the right of each player indicate an objective formula based upon each player's incoming 247sports Composite score + experience and awards.
• As for previously injured players, I don't know what status is now that they have returned from the extended break.

Chase a 99 lol and marshal is an 87. No one is ever a 99

I feel like Marshall’s rating should be higher, idk the formula but it seems pretty accurate for others and I get why freshman are rated low without the experience but Marshall has shown it and we all know what he is capable of.. he should be a high 90s type rating imo.

Marshall is easily a 93 overall
Deculus easily a 90+

I hope not. If it's McMath then we are taking a small step backwards. Hopefully Palmer is the real deal, and he will come in and play at the level Jefferson did last year.

Thought I heard a recent interview with EdO that chase would line up in the slot.

I don't think it has anything to do with Palmer. I think McMath has impressed the coaches with his practice habits and special team work. He seems to be the leader of the special teams.
Personally, I agree since I hate to lose the top three receivers next year. I hope Palmer seizes the opportunity!

Bro what... McMath is going to be a BEAST. Even Chase's dad said he was faster than Marshall and Chase. And the dude is 6'3 and a solid fricking build. What a bad take. Shouldn't be surprised it is the rant of course

Nobody, not even Chase, is keeping Racey McMath off that field !!!
Racey and Myles have a special connection and chemistry, much like Joe and Ja’Marr
You can see it clearly watching replay!
McMath will be LSU TD leader in receptions going into Florida — Anyone wanna bet !
A good ole fashioned “I told ya so” bet

I really hoped to see McMath start. He is an LSU D.K. Metcalf. Huge and super fast.

Reflection... you really never know about this stuff. One could make an argument Marshall would have led the bunch in TDs had he been healthy. His target to TD ratio in the red zone was probably off the charts.
Stop arguing and reflect on this article then ask yourself, are there really any guarantees with these kids when it comes to what coaches can and cannot do to impact their productivity?

That article mentions the 2018 LSU WR core didn’t crack 60 percent of their catch rate. Imagine the 2018 offense with WRs catching the ball. We used a shitty rotation though with Jonathan Giles and D.Dillon in the slot plus S.Sullivan’s drops were costly too.

It’s going to be McMath over Palmer. With Chase, Marshall, McMath, Gilbert....this is going to be unleashing hell on teams. I just hope that OL can give him 5-6 seconds. That’s really the only major question mark of the roster.
