He did not make clear distinctions about the "Stack" Linebackers other than to list Clark, Brooks, and Sampah at "Mike." I interpreted the non-Mike Linebackers within the "Stack" group to be at the "Will" position. Nothing was said about the Outside Linebacker position. This is not abnormal, since he indicated that LSU would be playing from the Nickel (4-2-5) formation 75% of the time.

It’s called “Stack” because the linebackers are “stacked” directly behind the defensive linemen. This causes confusion for the offensive line, as the defenders aren't in declared gaps at the snap of the ball. You are right, he’s describing what will be our Nickel but he’s naming the top two LBs in that formation.

He’s named the top two LBs in that interview as D.Clark and M.Brooks which matches the guys returning who got the most playing time last year.

Also figure we don’t have an All SEC pass rushing DE like Chaisson last year so Brooks is going to be important to have on the field for pass rushing situations.

Did O say Ricks over Flott? I doubt that

I have been saying this all spring. I tend to look at the 20000 ft level on these things.

1. Ricks is 6'2" 196. Stingley is 6'1" 195. Flott is 6'0" 165. One of these is not like the other.

2. Ricks is a 5* player from Mater Dei which is a NFL factory. We have another 5* LB in the 2021 class committed from Mater Dei. Ther is a HIGHLY sought after 5* SDE from Centennial HS that is about 10 mi down the road from Mater Dei that we crave immensely. It would be somewhat stupid to think that these guys arent talking to each other. PAC12 is a dumpster fire right now and all the Cali talent is right for poaching. I fully expect we will keep the Ricks family very happy as long as those LA 5*keep on rolling over our way.

The DL is deeper than I realize. Very talented front seven in a 4-3 scheme = hell for opposing QBs.

The Great O has lived up to his recruiting rep.

Three years ago we hardly had enough quality linemen to fill a roster.

Yeah you can tell from the past few classes that they made it a priority to recruit the big men.

Jacoby Stevens at 96 seems a bit high. Cox at 84 seems low. Shelvin at 85 seems low. Too big of a gap between Farrell and Logan. Cherry way too high.

Honestly, these numbers are doodoo.

I dont think he has the length required to play DE, especially in a traditional front.

Originally was an OLB.

3-4 DE little different. Could have played there.

He was 280 last year in the summer. Big, stout kid. Probably better suited to play in tight space as a DT.
