Currently a graduate assistant, he’s been killing the recruiting trail & listening to this interview you can really see why. Very sharp & engaging.

Kid will be on staff when he graduates

O is very high on this guy. Interesting to see if he replaces old man Bill or he tries to get Kyle Williams in the fold down the line. Either way he’s a great contributor to the cause.

Lac is awesome, but I'm still not sold on LSU being the place for a young GA to get his first full-time on-field gig.

That is basically what he did with Dennis Meatball Johnson.

You hire him as a lower level position coach that is basically just there to recruit.

He just hire Kevin Faulk the same way.

Right, and he was a lousy position coach and mediocre recruiter. DJ is the one of the reasons I'm not sold on LSU being the place for a GA to become a first-time coach.

That's why I said a young GA. Faulk is a middle-aged man with a fistful of SB rings.

Nothing wrong with Lac cutting his teeth at Tech or ULL or somewhere else. His loyalty will always be with LSU if he has the opportunity.

He's been recruiting for us since his senior night vs A&M.

Brady was 2 years removed from being a GA at Penn St when we hired him and was an offensive assistant for the Saints (not a position coach-mostly a film guy) when we hired him to makeover the offense.

This, I think Lac already being on staff and being a former Ed O player gives him a pretty big leg up. If O thinks he can do the job and Bill wants to retire, there's a good chance he could step in.

Especially when you factor in O being a DL coach at heart and can help him along with that aspect being a young guy.

This is the way now. With the new analysts roles and increased staff sizes, schools are growing their own coaches.

Clemson and Ohio State both hired coaches internally during the off-season for their first full-time coaching positions. They didn't think those coaches needed to take positions at smaller schools.

What do you think Lacouture could learn at ULL that he's not learning now?

If Lac goes to the NFL for two years and gets an endorsement from a defensive genius, I'll totallly change my tune.

eh no, not really. He was good enough where they fought over him with Baylor this offseason.

I trust Lacouture more than Faulk

Nothing wrong with LSU adding him to staff when he is done with school.

Recruiting is more important than coaching especially when you are a lower level postion coach.

And LSU's position coaches, as a whole, are OLD as shite. They need youth and this is the guy

And I think they will probably regret it. The kid OSU hired is Urban's son-in-law, and most OSU fans hate the hire.

Managing his own position group, evaluating his own recruits, managing his own recruiting board, developing rather than just implementing recruiting strategy, going in-home/school to talk to parents and coaches instead of just the recruits themselves on social media...

Agree to disagree. We're not gonna change each other's minds and I don't feel like going back-and-forth all day arguing increasingly esoteric points.

college football is a young man's game. It's 2020. things have changed. Recruiting is 80% of the game.

We have great coaches with 20+ yrs of experience that know him way better than we do,they're around him constantly, they have an idea of what to look for in a guy... I'll trust em

People poked the Brady hire full of holes too, it worked out fine.
