Long: What about the "one year wonder thing?"

Simms: "He played really well in 2018. I called his dad [in the Summer of '18] I said he's a 3rd or 4th round pick playing in a backward LSU offense."

Simms on JB in 2019: "He. Played. Pro. Football"

Anthony Munoz also had some great comments about JB

I mean
He isn't lying

The offense was weird as frick in 2018. We wanted to be a passing team with a running playbook.

OL and WR’s played poor. It wasn’t 100% schematics that changed in 2019.

Did you get to the Anthony Munoz comments? High praise from him, also. Said he didn't want to compare Burrow to Joe Montana, but he did anyway.

I think a big reason they played so poorly was because they were put in terrible positions with the scheme. Either way, I’m glad we’ve finally decided to get with the times on offense.

The thing that really stood out to me from the video was talking about how Burrow was constantly under pressure but was able to avoid the rush. I thought Burrow really made the line play look a lot better than it was. I hope Brennan can move around enough too.

Brennan doesn't have to throw 60 TDs to put LSU in position for another run at the playoffs, IMO. If the RBs become solid receivers, the O should be pretty damn lethal. Curry seems to have the most "want to".

Can you at least admit it was a non-forward moving offense? Without Brady... Joe doesn’t become Jeaux

If Brennan has a season like Burrow did in 2018, we are going to roll again! We were close in 2018 (excpet Bama game).

by the end of the 2018 season, once the true freshman WR's and the new and inexperienced OL starting playing more like veterans, the offense was forward moving

the offense was going to be good in 2019 regardless of Joe Brady. Not saying he didn't bring a lot to the table as well. But really, you could see Burrow was going to be an NFL QB by the end of 2018, just no way to see he was going to be this good.

Oh, quit acting all high and mighty Ellie. You're the clown who dumped his LSU season tickets... and then bragged about it on the Rant.

If you get to play G5 teams in the NFL sure.

Honestly I always Thought Joe was a good QB, and he definitely would have improved. But not this much.

He may have been referring to the play when Ensminger had Joe Burrow do a play action pass inside their own 5 yard line against Alabama, which led to Burrow almost being sacked for a safety. Gary Danielson couldn't believe that "backward assed" play was called.
