• One source who has seen the players running routes on their own with the quarterbacks says that wide receiver Chris Hilton looks unbelievable. He catches everything and “looks like a faster Ja’Marr Chase.” Jack Bech also is turning heads.

Looking like he’s a solid reminder of Boutte.

Also jack bech size and blocking is going to be fun to watch.

Let's see how well he gets out of press coverage before we crown him the next Chase

It will take some work in the gym to get on chase’s level....chase wasn’t chase until he got older and grew.
Chris has all the tools to be very good, plus he has the support of a great family who aren’t knuckle heads that are chasing money.

Hilton is a state champion in track. Where Hilton will probably struggle initially is the strength and getting out of breaks aspect since he’s 178 pounds. Not to say he can’t be productive.

All good things to hear. I'm sure he will contribute early. He looks like he has the frame to add more muscle too.

You see glimpses of Chase in Hilton's highlights. What separated Chase from other though was...well...his separation. He was physical and rarely got jammed at the line. And once he had you one on one he was going to separate from you almost every time even though he really wasn't a pure speed guy. (I'm not buying the 4.38. The pro day results are almost ALWAYS skewed in favor of the player). Still, Chase is PLENTY fast.

Hilton is a big time athlete. He's a state champion high jumper and while not quite as fast as Boutte, he's pretty close. Boutte is still your alpha-dog this year. But of the freshman class I think Hilton is the one that will have the most impact.

Hilton, Thomas and Smith will be absolute studs when they are juniors. Like impossible to guard... with the QB being Walker Howard

At LSU pro-day, he in the 4.45 range on a normal track

Hilton's track times are faster than Chase's

I didn't realize until recently Hilton ended up rated higher than BTj in the 247 rankings.

I only go by NFL combine numbers, unless all prospects (not just LSU) are running on the same surface

Yap. I’d add .08 to most times from this draft season.

He’s still plenty fast tho

Hilton will never be chase in terms of the bully-ball he played but he could be the finesse version for sure

Chris Hilton is a mile more athletic than Chase was as a freshman.

He's probably legit 4.5.

That's fast enough, pro day numbers are usually way faster.
