Aw shite, a good ole' fashioned "I know more football than you" argument.

Well, since he agrees with me (he essentially just regurgitated my sentiments) then he obviously knows what he is talking about.

You need a link to know our Dline will not be as strong as last year? Really?

Which 4 linebackers were on the field at the same time?

Just because they're listed as DBs in your program doesn't mean they weren't playing LB. their responsibilities determine their position, and yes, I think the Mustang is a 3-4. Two of those DBs had the same gap responsibilities as LBs would have in a 3-4.

Except they were manned up on WRs

To have an effective 3-4, you need a mammoth nt. those are few and far between at the NFL level. Let alone college.

What is everyone's obsession with the freaking 3-4 anyway? Saban

Uhhhh...you do realize Saban ran a 4-3 while he was here, right?

he totally forgot about that.

we don't have the linemen to trun a 3-4 scheme and switching to the defense is nowhere in the plans.

A&M did not have six WRs

Often they weren't manned up with anyone because they were playing zone.

If two of those DBs were replaced with LBs, who had the exact same responsibilities, everyone on here would be sure they were looking at a 3-4. So I ask, what makes a 3-4 not a 3-4? The numbers on the jerseys? The position in the program?

It is not a good idea to change to a 3-4 BECAUSE your D-line is taking a step back from last year, or so you think.

About the same as us playing with a "drop linebacker."

Right mr. Wizard..... Please do point out the nose tackle we have capable of playing a 3-4? Since you know so much you should know that a NT in a 3-4 is supposed to just eat blocks and make plays in the run game. And please do tell which LBers we have that fit a 3-4? You say you know football yet you haven't looked at a depth chart and seen that our defense was recruited to play a 4-3 speed type defense. As opposed to the 3-4 scheme that requires LBers that are 250+. You go ahead and find those..... I'll wait.

We've recruited too much on the DLine to run a 3-4.

In order to run a 3-4 you need a DT that must be double teamed on every play, or you will be run all over.

I think the defense Chavis runs is fine. We have a ton of speed at LB and in the secondary, and we got the size up front. We need to stick with 4-3.
