honest question

why did it take 2.5 weeks to schedule a surgery for a future (hopefully) professional athlete

this delays rehab schedule by that amount of time, right?

This is really fast. You have to diagnose and let swelling go down.

He will be 100% in plenty of time. It’s not a delay if you have time to schedule around personal/family or any other things going on. Some people can’t just drop everything if it’s not totally necessary.

To the poster above: Swelling can be good in a week or so.

This. He probably wanted to make the trip with his teammates to Auburn and delayed it a week. It’s very possible the doctor didn’t have time either. He has plenty of time to heal. He’ll be fine

I thought I heard medial collateral durning the week after the injury.
No facts, just heard.

Need to allow the trauma, including swelling, from the injury to abate before doing the repair. It was a while after he tore the ACL before they got him to stay off it and they put ice on it.

You wait to allow him to regain some motion before surgery and it’s easier to get motion back after surgery. Also if he had a MCL sprain, time for that to heal
