Technically, CEO is right. But anyone who watched that games knows that defense left it all out on the field. They played with heart and passion, but the last 20 something minutes of regulation they were on the field for all but a couple minutes. IDC who you are, playing that hard with that much energy will eventually wear you down. A couple of sustained offensive drives and our defense no doubt shuts that drive down like they had done all game. There isn't a single solitary doubt in my mind.

Yep....in the fourth quarter after they played their asses off for 3 downs and Alabama squeaks by with a first with questionable penalties for a first down....the defense got frustrated and they couldn't fight off their "holds"....& fatigue set in....and yes they didn't tackle well

He just said the reason Guice didn't get more carries is because the game plan called for LF to get more carries.

This is the trap of big games. After a big offensive performance by Fournette prior to "the big game", coaches always fall in to the trap of trying to feature him which ends up reducing the overall amount of carries for the team and bungles any game-plan with this offense. They should have used a rotation of back like "wait-for-it" Bama did the last 5 years against them. One back will never beat Alabama. Guice and Williams should have played more in that game. I'm really not sure the OCs aren't more intimidated than the players.

Williams could have gotten some of those carries in the fullback spot. That was the most consistent run play that LSU ran and it got 2-3 yards per attempt because it was quick-hitting. That's not much, but it's better than losing 5 yards trying to get it to Fournette 4-5 yards deep because he couldn't get to the line of scrimmage fast enough.

You should never lose a game when you hold your opponent to 10 points.

Tell that to Alabama who lost 9-6 in 2011. You always run the risk of losing a game that only requires one score to win it in the 4th. Someone will eventually make the play that wins it.

I was originally of the opinion that we should make Herman tell us 'no' before offering the gig to CEO.

Now I'm of the opinion that we need to make Herman AND Jimbo say no.

If he said that I don't agree with him on this one. You are not gonna execute and tackle, wrap up Alabama play makers in the 4th quarter when you are frickin tired. His offense played terrible and went in and out causing the defense to have to stay on the field. I don't care who you are, no one is Superman, you will get tired.

Well how come the Bama D was able to execute in the 4th qtr , I don't have the stats but I would say T.O.P was pretty close to even .,..

Don't get me wrong the D played great and I don't blame them for the loss but they did wear out and the Bama D didn't ..,,,

If he said that, then he certainly should not be a permanent head coach at LSU.IMO

They were on the field for less than four minutes in the fourth quarter. It's that simple. They were fresh as fresh can be.

Saban said basically the same thing. His d stopped us for 4 qtrs and LSU stopped them for 3.

People, PLEASE go watch this video yourself. Everything we are discussing is stated in the first 2 'inured if the video.

The OP's comments, while true, are out of context, providing for a very sensational and deceiving thread. Coach O was extremely critical of the offense. In fact, he pointed out several things that we have discussed on here. He was also very pleased with the defensive performance and talked highly of them and Aranda. He specifically pointed out how it was the lowest points given up to Alabama all season, as well as pointing out that it was the first time Bama was held scoreless during the first half since 2007. In context, it is very clear that he is saying that the defense did very well most if the game, but did not play a full 60 minutes. That should be taken as a "we did well, but we can do better". He did not blame the game on the defense. Not even close. He specifically said that the defense gave the ball to the Offense in good field position on several occasions and had they executed in those opportunities early on, we possibly could have controlled the game.

It was a very good, honest breakdown by CEO.

There is no context. I heard him say it live. He should have said, "Coach Aranda's defense came prepared for victory holding Alabama to 10 points."

he sees the writing on the wall, and in the words of Michael Gary Scott is about "to burn Utica to the ground."

CEO see's Aranda's stock skyrocketing while he's dropping. There is friction brewing on the staff. Keep watching.

This team needs some Oline esp tackles and a QB that will not wilt under fire. No one on the roster fits the bill.

Have you seen everybody on the roster play? No you haven't, so how can you be so matter of fact about it? Now I agree with you on who we have starting at tackle, but there are guys like Okeke, and Allen who have immense talent, but have yet to be utilized, because of them being raw. A guy like Lindsey Scott in the power spread hae the capability to be a monster of a QB.

Coach O was brutally honest and correct in his assessment. frick all the snowflakes who don't have balls. Go vote for HRC you bunch of pussies! I'll take a demanding coach over a "players coach" any day. You cucks would hate Saban too if he were back at LSU.

there is, in fact, context. He gave high praise to Aranda and the defense, while criticizing the offensiive execution.
