There were a couple times they showed JB and SE in the box and I only saw JB talking while the offense was on the field. I think Brady is doing a lot of the play calling if not all of it and SE is part of the game planning side of OC duties.

This is Brady's playbook and most everything we see is out of that book. SE has facilitated this system and allowed Brady to do his thing. He has checked his ego at the door and is the ultimate TIger.

Considering the OC was a job he didn't really want to begin with, I suspect Brady will be our OC and SE will go back to TE coach or to some capacity. CSE deserves much credit for his handling of the situation.

I was skeptical before the season started, because Brady had never been in a play calling position before, and SE didn’t exactly have the best resume as an OC. That said, the combo of those two has gotten us here, which is the best offense in SEC history. I believe SE is a great mentor for Brady. Brady is the young, innovative offensive mind, while SE is the older, wiser one that can help mold Joe.

We can pay CEO, Brady, and Slinger and still be cheaper than Jimbo. Sounds like the deal of the century to me.

Oh, look, its this weeks smug " i dont like Steve Ensminger as OC " in disguise post. Why can't some of you just enjoy the incredible season and respect the contributions of everyone in the roles they have. Instead you insist on speculating about shite you know nothing about. The coach who is 12-0 is very capable of determining what roles he wants his staff to assume.

I think SE will voluntarily step down and go back to TE coach or some other assistant/consultant and Brady will be the new OC.

Remember SE didn’t really want to be OC in the first place
I don't know why people think this is such a crazy idea.

In fact, I consider it one of the two most likely outcomes

And the other likely outcome is Brady coaches somewhere else next year.

They did just fine this year plus Coach E is the one that calls the plays Brady just helped modernize the playbook and gives him suggestions

Looks like Joe Brady is taking the reigns, huh?

The past two games, the camera has been on Brady 6 times. Each time Brady was seen with playsheet in his hand calling plays. Ensmingers had his mic turned up and playsheet against the glass. It was in the same position a couple series apart.

Or maybe "Enzinger " had already told him what play to run and Brady was conveying his input to the sideline as they have done all season.

Do you really think after the year that Brady has had that he would agree to be co-anything. The dude is THE MAN and is going to want both - title and pay that go with that.

Do you really think the year that Ensminger has had that he is wanting to be demoted?

Why is no one giving E any credit? Brady should have absolutely no bad feeling towards Ensminger and shouldn’t have any problems with being Co-OC with him. Without E doing what he did in checking his own ego and allow Bradyo to do what he did no one cares about Joe Brady.

Said he never really wanted the job but would do it for his team.

That's nothing new, Ensminger has made that clear since 2016.

Slinger is an LSU man through and through. He does whatever it takes to help the team, and coaching titles don't matter. He was an OC that was asked to come back to LSU to coach TEs, so he did. When Cameron was let go in 2016, Ensminger was asked to step up to OC, so he did. When Canada was hired in 2017, Ensminger was asked to step back down to TE coach, so he did. When Canada was let go, Ensminger was asked to be OC again, so he did. When Brady came on board, Ensminger was asked to work with him on the passing game, developing and calling plays, so he did. The man is a hero (threw for the only LSU TD in the '79 USC game), and a gem. The only other LSU coach I would put up there with Steve is Pete Jenkins, another one of my favorite LSU coaches all-time.

Why has this been so hard for LSU fans to understand?

Ensminger - OC emeritus

Yes, there is certainly no way an organization that makes over $50 million in profit a year can keep 2 people on as OC.

Not necessarily. The 2nd route is to put CSE in a QC role with TAF keeping his pay up. That way he can continue to evaluate recruits, advise on recruiting, help Brady gameplan as the OC.

He wouldn't be able to hit the recruiting trail or be in the booth. But not being on the trail is alot of his time & stress.

But it is certainly possible to keep his pay up in a QC role using TAF, not public money to transition this.
