CBK & Notre Dame transfers

Curious why CBK hasn’t received any transfer players from Notre Dame(besides punter). Not saying its a good thing or a bad thing. Just assumed he would bring a few guys that he had recruited up there down here with him. Regardless, he seems to be doing a fine job so far and I’m excited about the new culture he is building. Future is bright Tiger Nation!!

Because if I have 2-3 years invested in a Notre Dame education, I sure as hell am finishing it.

Well Shanahan didn’t say that about Harvard and it’s Harvard. These kids want to play football as D1 athletes they will land strong jobs regardless

Yeah I thought he left before he got his undergrad. He was a grad transfer.

It’s significant that ND promoted from within to replace CBK. I think the continuity of having the old DC become HC and all (?) of the offensive staff staying the same was key to them hanging onto a lot of guys. If ND had cleaned house, I think more guys would have left….to LSU or elsewhere.

They lost Elston, Polian, Taylor, Quinn, and I think one more coach. But Freeman and Rees keep the consistency.
My belief is that ND is one of the best academic-athletic programs in the country and players that go there are more likely to stay because the ND education has great value after college.

I could be wrong about this but I don’t believe ND has many guys in the portal that have chosen destinations. I don’t think we’ve offered, or at least the tracker on this board hasn’t posted them. So this may not be finished. It might be hard for some of these guys to find a better team.

Since Kelly lefts it looks like only 5 players entered the portal.
1 came to LSU
2 are undecided.
The other two were 3 star recruits that went to Georgia Tech and Pitt. Not exactly powerhouses.

Maybe the kids who go there are committed to the university and not the coach ... actually the way it should be.
