So I watch the big series during the season, sec tournament, regionals, and so on. I’d consider myself more of a casual fan compared to football and basketball. Question for a lot of the fans who follow much closer.

Todd Peterson doesn’t seem to be very good in the times I’ve watched him. Is there something I’m missing?

Peterson, Fontenot, Hess (all our top BP options) have been untouchable at times this season. Then there were times where they struggled a lot.

When he’s ON he’s the unstoppable. He just wasn’t on yesterday. Kids damn good when he’s locating

You haven't watched enough. His ceiling is great. Just needs to be more consistent, but a pitcher just will not have their best stuff every time out

I will say he needs a haircut though... not digging the bad news bears pitcher hair

That seems to be the consensus here. Consistency. Fair enough was just curious since like I said I only watch a few games during the season.

:boomroasted:

But seriously, the kid has a lot of talent and I really like his physical size. I think much like Hess he shines as a closer when he can just rock and fire. His middle relief and starts are not the same.

He’ll find his place, but it’s down to tournament time now so who knows where he’ll appear with a short pitching staff.

Just my opinion.

He throws mid 90s on a downward plane so when he is throwing strikes he is awfully tough on batters. Sometimes he doesn’t throw strikes tho. Risk reward for sure.

Yeah, he wasn't getting hit yesterday, he just didn't have control. Maybe he was too amped up and overthrew the ball a bit. Remember that he also slipped and fell on his second pitch. That likely had him overthinking his mechanics, as well.

He and Hess are always there to keep you interested.
When they have their control they are awesome. You never know when they will give up a bomb.

These kids are not robots.... sometimes you fail, he has tremendous pitching talent, needs to adjust and try again... LSU needs him to be successful

It's a really hard thing to do. These guys are college athletes, and they don't focus on baseball 100% of the time.
The best ones are they who can conquer mentally first.

I agree and u make complete semse unlike the idiots who freuqent here...he has shite the bed a few times and the minute he has 1 or 2 good brief outings, Dunn thinks he is gonna deal magically , peterson doesn't have it when u compare him to 4 or 5 other guys, he should have pitched Friday night ....imo, i would have never ran him out there, we got too many "better" guys who can deliver better execution on the bump....Im gonna get downvoted but then again I get downvoted on anything I say...
