Some smoke this morning regarding a report from a Lafayette radio station that Canada is expected to be announced as the next coach as early as Friday.

Just a messenger

Maybe. But I wouldn't trust Lafayette sports radio. It's the equivalent of a group of functional retards discussing sports with each other (hosts and local fans). I've had the displeasure of listing to Lafayette sports talk. The host spends 15 minutes talking about some topic only to open the phone lines to callers and have some backwoods cajun call in an ask a completely unrelated questions such as "what time is the softball game today?"

Is Canada recruiting? I see every other LSU coach in recruiting pictures, except for Canada? I understand he wants to be a HC, but he is still being paid right now by LSU. This could possibly cost us some quality recruits because of the OC stability.

I know there will be some folks who absolutely hate this, but Hugh Freeze as OC would be major...his offense combined with a LSU defense...could get really interesting

Well, a lot of coaches get jobs without formal interviews these days.

My sauces (NCAA Football 14) told me that Aranda leaves LSU to become the head coach at ULL. They’ll have a solid defense in the next couple years with a heisman candidate running back. And they’ll be in the top 10 for a couple years before Aranda becomes the head coach at a P5 school.

Typical: rumor of a report from an un named radio station and un named person.
Certainly a highly credible report and worthy of a new thread...

Thanks Derek. It's one of my favorite things to type when it looks like O is showing his true self.

Every thread quoting a fricking local sports radio station as a source needs to be whacked with the quickness.

Do you expect any less from that region?

What does a likely false report from Lafayette radio have to do with "O is showing his true self." ?

What station do you listen to? I like Dave Shultz and Ben Love.
