Great hires in football and basketball. Bringing the beer chutes to Tiger Stadium. This guy has his pulse on the program. He's turned it around.

Please provide a principled argument to the contrary.

Yes hes made strides that have surprised even the hardest of our hearts but hes def not "the man". We can start looking forward and expect to see more improvement and in time put the pitchforks and torches away, but he deserves no crown after some of the head scratching shite weve seen come out of that office.

Will Wade was a great hire - he gets credit for that, no doubt. Of course, he also hired JJ, but I'll give him credit for following up JJ with a huge hire.

I hope Coach O keeps the momentum going and does amazing. But O ended up being the coach after Alleva botched the Les Miles situation and other potential hires. And we know what O's record was going into things.

Also, Alleva has tried to kill the tailgating atmosphere for some time now.

The football hire, in particular, was egregious.

Oh, it looks like Orgeron was every bit what Alleva thought and even more, but do not ever let that cloud your judgement.

To review:
- Alleva makes no comments as Les Miles struggles down the stretch in 2015.
- Alleva says that he'll 'keep off-season discussions until the off-season'
- Alleva holds a press conference saying Les Miles is the head coach after letting him twist in the wind for the second half of the season
- Alleva very likely had the buyout money for both Les Miles and Jimbo Fisher at the same time to end the '15 season
- Alleva talks up Les Miles' security in 2016
- Fires Les Miles four games into the 2016 season, like the amateur that Alleva is
- Promotes Orgeron
- Talks up his 'national search' to find an offensive coach who is proven
- Does not proceed to a national search
- Does not proceed to a regional search
- Does not proceed to a local search
- Does not proceed to search, period
- Waits until the last minute to make a run at Jimbo Fisher, who rebuffs
- Waits until the last minute to make a run at Tom Herman, who tries to use LSU as a negotiating tactic against Texas
- Promotes Ed Orgeron, saying Orgeron was "always" the choice

Alleva is a fool and you're a fool to support him.

Even if Orgeron has exceeded expectations, Alleva is a fool.

I think we can admit that he occasionally has a good idea while also still being completely repulsed at his philosophy on how to run an AD.

No. He lied about replacing Les with a championship caliber coach. He also threw the Duke Lacrosse team under the bus. I could go on but those two facts alone prevent him from ever being "the man".
