Here's the problem with this particular vein of rationalization: if it was true that you and others like you only loved Sabah because of what he did for LSU while he was here, you'd feel a comencerate amount of hate for what he's done to LSU since he left (i.e. beating us and winning some of the recruiting battles between us and bama). But that's not how you feel, is it? The fact that your panties get wet every time you hear Saban mention "the process" means that you're more invested in the cult of personality of a few select coaches than you are in LSU, whether or not you're conscientious that this is the case.

I loved saban while he was here. And Miles, and O. Why? Because I'm a fan of LSU first, and the coaches and players second. Only when a coach or player does something to tarnish the program or underperforms will I take a pessimistic view of them. We all know that there have been large contingents of fans who have actively rooted against Miles and O, just because they wanted to be able to rationalize their crushes on the Sabans, Jimbos, and Hermans.

If you'd had the same "I'm reserving judgement on O till he wins it all" attitude when saban was here, you would've wanted him fired after his third consecutive season of going 5-3 in the SEC. I doubt that you felt that way, though, because your romance with him had already begun.

Stop trying to intellectualize your crush on saban. It's fine that you feel that way about him, but it's disingenuous to masquerade yourself as an objective observer when you're actually being guided solely by your lust for him.

Please show me one post that you may have said something good about US. Coach O is LSU now! What has he done since he has been here to make you not think he may be a good choice?Besides you wanting to suck Fishers butt.

I was in for Jimbo and CEO second. Never was on the Herman bandwagon. The one thing that is missing is the Alleva haters. I dont care one way or another about Joe. But since the Wade hiring,now the Herman swoon, and Jimbo's eight year program build that got squashed as bad as any LSU team in the past 6 yrs the Alleva haters have washed away for the time being...

I wanted us to hire Fisher, but was under no delusion that he was a can't miss hire. How would the LSU fan base react if we let a team hang 63 points on us? And, his result against Bama was no better than ours last season. I didn't see any offensive game plan that put Bama on its heels. He seemed like a logical choice as someone who would not take the program back and hopefully build on its foundation.

I do believe Orgeron can advance the program as well, but it does require a lot of pieces to fall into place. That goes for almost any coach unless their name is Saban or Meyer and last I saw they weren't looking for a job.
