BTW, if you try and present an argument intelligently, don't make a nonsensical statement that is poorly worded.
i am concerned about the passing offense under Canada, but the idea that a team must be in the top 50 in passing to win a championship is faulty. Bama is currently ranked 55th in passing. In 2011 they were ranked 63rd. We all know how that played out. Bama is much more effective running (14th ranked) than passing (55th ranked), but they have a shut down defense and a creative offense that utilizes their strengths. I think Canada can bring the same type of production.

Watch the Penn St game. Where in the SEC is a 270lb Lineman going to get a push on a 350lbs lineman to get the second level of the defense. Don't get me wrong, I love the Tigers, I just feel we put lipstick on a pig, and we're ok with that. Pitt had 5"10 speedsters running those sweeps not 6'3-6'6 215 lb WR's like we have. And why not get a coordinator that runs what majority of LOUSIANA high schools run? Our QB problems comes from a lack of understanding what high schools are running, Shea Patterson, Dak Prescott, Franks ran Spread do you realize LA has a 6'8 QB that threw for almost 4000 yds with 48 TD's and only 5 ints? He won't come because he won't throw it he'll hand it off for three years.
This was my thinking with the initial hire. But if what he says in the presser about building offense around the team, he might come out with something very new. We'll just have to wait and see.

Dude - It depends on who we've got available on game day and who we're playing. The way it should be.

That's the way it should be, but it's hardly the case with coaches.

Just my impressions from watching the Pitt Clemson highlights:
He positions his skill players where they will succeed. Gets them in space and keeps the D off balance by any means necessary. Multiple formations, spread or pro, as needed.

Can we get to the playoffs with the 80th ranked pass offense? No you can't. BTW if you try and present an argument intelligently don't use douce it it means wash as in clean something.
Well, someone isn't paying attention this year because Bama is 68th and tOSU is 77th. Watch what happens in these playoffs to the passing teams. Clemson is 7th and UW is 31st.

The kind that takes advantage of what the Defense is giving you.

Thanks for the clips. I'm just staying a bit skeptical because every play will look good if it works. I just wanted to know if he was the kind of coach that actually makes changes when needed.
According to the rant, he is. I honestly hope it works out.

This is what I care about the most. Forgive me for being skeptical but I've heard coaches promise the same before for other teams and not come through. Usually they try to force their own system on a team.
The thing that speaks the most truth is the tape. He's coached at plenty of other teams right? Does he run the same system at each school, or are there unique changes at each program that highlight the different rosters?
Let's not settle so soon.

True. There aren't many who can adapt their system to the players available. But those who can are the most successful.
