The play of the Oline has been wildly exaggerated. The RBs besides TDP are averaging 5.8 yards per carry and a lot of the assumed pressure Max has been under has been a result of Max’s poor decision making himself. This certainly isn’t a great Oline but they’re being blamed for things that aren’t necessarily their fault.

It’s nonexistent. Not a good look going into SEC schedule

I have been very critical of our OLine but to be fair to them we haven’t had all of the starters out there yet for a full game and LSUs stupid weed policy cost us a really good LT

Sure but most of that has come on garbage time against 2 vastly inferior opponents

And… on a couple of Kiner’s big runs (like the stiff arm the other night) he was actually hit in the backfield and turned poor blocking into a highlight.

Depends if they can keep Max healthy.

Kiner had early carries in those games and regardless of the score we still had our 1s in going against the opponents 1s.

The line is way better than most idiots on here realize. When the defense outnumbers the blockers in an area, of course they will get pressure. That’s on the QB and receivers to complete a quick hitter.

THIS!!!!! Joe Burrow's O-line wasn't really a step above the o-line we have now. The QB play, spreading the defense, etc. forces the extra rushers(LB's) into pass coverage. Recognizing the blitz packages and getting rid of the ball quickly will make the O-Line look a lot better. The OL along with Max have improved every week. There wasn't a single sack allowed against CM. I'm not overly concerned about the lack of the run game, you take what the defense gives you. I think it will be a good game against Moo State and the determining factor will be how much pressure our D-line puts on their QB.

Three weeks in the SEC looks down. State is bad, KY is bad, a&m is somewhere between mediocre and good, AU... who knows about AU. There are q lot of winnable gàmes on the schedule. Not automatic wins at all but definitely winnable.

Line still not blocking worth a damn

Tempo can help a little, young receivers emerging as playmakers will slow down the rush and help Johnson a lot but Shanahan is a big problem. He's getting blown up on every snap and according to the radio guys close to the program there's not a better option

LSU should beat State and Kentucky. They should also win one of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn and aTm.

I truly think 8-4 is the best record they will be able to pull off. I feel like 7-5 is where they will end up. Just think Ole miss, Bama and Florida is going to tear them a new arse hole. The rest of the SEC isn't going to be easy either but I feel like those three games are automatic losses.

We’ve got a defense, and with a defense, we can win every game on the schedule.

That was done in 2003 with our first of 3 national championships, 4 national championship games.

It’s been proven three times in the last 20 years that coaches who had never even sniffed a chance at a national championship before their arrival here could indeed win one.

Why we don’t have good, capable, successful HCs waiting in line to come here is beyond me.

6 of our 8 SEC games are ranked opponents as of now.

Hard to se more than 3 at the best, but weird things have happened

think Johnson enrolled early. Either way, He’s a Sophemore not a baby. We don’t measure in months.

That being said, he had a great game.

But it was CMU. The OL looked better, but it was CMU.

Comparing games vs. common opponents is the only thing we can do to see how a player performs against common team. Not saying I believe in the transitive property, this team beat this team by this team, etc. but I think it can be used to see how a QB does vs other QB.

Buzulak for MIZZOU 21-32 for 257 and 2 TDS. Max of course lit them up. Buzulak Started 8 games last year and so the CMU game was his 9th.

So Max progression in his 5th start looks very promising, he was a 19-3 TD/INT ratio.

We lose 4 games due to poor OL and zone defense

Lose to Auburn, Florida, Bama, Ole Miss

Saahdiq, Cush, & D-Lew are elite players.

Wire, Shanny, & Hines are just guys.

This. I hate to bad mouth any players but Shanahan is plain trash. He appears to have not gotten any stronger since last year. LSU can win with this o-line but Peetz is going to have to work some magic. Running up the middle is pretty much a no-go except for the occasional draw play. They need to use Kiner and Goodwin and run it off tackle. The biggest issue is absolutely no screens. If LSU could successfully run some RB screens that would take a lot of pressure off the oline. If I was Peetz I'd be drilling the RB screen to death in practice so they can actually use it in a game.

Johnson is getting better at getting the ball out quicker (playcalling is helping this too) and that will help the oline as well.

TLDR - It's going to be a struggle but if Peetz can earn his paycheck LSU can win some SEC games this year for sure.
