Zach Mettenberger had a 58.8% completion percentage in 2012. He had three SEC games in a row against Florida, South Carolina, and Texas A&M of 11-25, 12-25, and 11-29. He turned it on against Alabama in game 9 and was great thereafter.

It's crazy how much heat Burrow's taken in the media. Almost to the point of making fun of him. He's got three games in a row against defenses no where near the quality of Miami and Auburn to get right (Southeastern aside.. the whole team took that game off).

I have little doubt he'll be above 50% after the Ole Miss game and on his way up. Setting himself up for a great 2019 like Mett did at the end of 2012 for 2013.

Next year could be special if the defense restocks well. We return almost our entire offense.

Who cares! If we 12-0 or 11-1 and in the top 5 he can be at 48%

I think the confidence to be a good passing offense and chemistry has been an issue in the first 3 games. Now that we have had a game-winning drive I expect to see a much more confident offense going forward. That will be huge, and I do believe the will click much better from now on. By the end of the year I'm thinking Joe will be around 55% completion. These 1st 3 games have made it tough for him to get higher than that on the year I believe.

Don't be freaking dramatic. The media has done nothing but praise him and the team from when we beat Miami till now.

I really like our chances if that happens. We've thrown it 79 times in 3 games. Let's call it 80. With 9 regular season games left, that's 240 more attempts. To get to 58.8%, he'll have to complete 63% of his passes the rest of the way - roughly 17/27 the rest of the way.

If he's at 48% by the end of the season, we're staring at 3 losses at a minimum.

A good start would be a 70% game this weekend. Something like 16/23 would be perfect.

Yes. It is still early on. He's only thrown 78 passes.

If were to complete say 30 of his next 45 (not too much of a stretch considering LT and Ole Miss are the next 2 games), that puts him up to 54%.

Still, it seems like he's getting a ton of national love.

I really believe he will get his percentage up. Just watching the throws he’s made in big moments tell you that. He is still learning his receivers, plus the offense as a whole. He also knows he has a great defense and isn’t taking chances for any picks.

No team has won the SEC in the last 10 years with a completion % under 60.7%.

But yeah, keep telling yourself hovering around 50% is okay.
