I think he's more of a guard than a tackle, but I'm no CFB coach

At this point we may need to convert some TE/FB to OL if we get any more injuries.

He could but we need tackles and he's the best pure tackle we have

This is the problem... we've always plugged and shuffled guys all over the Oline. Let the guy focus on being a Tackle.

If he is a tackle then why can't he beat out Malone?

If he is our best lineman that is not playing, then I say move him to RG for now

Is that really hard to understand? While he's not that good, Malone is a senior and has started multiple games. Do you really want another true freshman starting on the oline?

Move clapp to guard. Cushionberry to center. Westhersby to LT. Deculus to RT. Put non blocking Malone to back up. That would give us more size and strength. Hey can't do worse than what we got now. Just try it

We spend all that time converting guards to tackles...just to convert tackles to guards...

D Campbell; maybe lost for the season and possible medical redshirt.

When they shifted Weathersby to the Left side and passed he got abused. I'm not sure he's much better than Malone

Dammit. Didn't know we were talking season ending. I had high hopes for him and I can't help but wonder where he was at as far as development.

I'm also curious about J. Savage and how he is progressing. Now is the time to find out. IF players like Savage are ready and just need the opportunity... it's indeed knocking. I know he has played some. Question is how did he perform, and at what position He was recruited at an OT. Seems like he's behind Malone. If he has put on 15-20 lbs of GOOD weight, one must assume he's been hitting the weight room during that RS year.

If he is better than Malone then yes.

If you are not good and someone better is behind you then why does experience trump ability?

The last thing we need is another freshman playing on the line. Charles and Ingram are very talented guards and have been working at that position all fall. Their problem is they don't know what the hell they're supposed to be doing a lot of the time.

Pay attention to the line play. In basic blocking schemes where it's a 1 on 1 assignment, Malone has done fine.
