And it's funny Crowton said something similar after he left but all anyone picked out was the 'it wasn't my offense' part.
That's because Crowton's emphasis was entirely, completely, totally on the "it wasn't my offense" part.

Yes, with as sharp as the passing game looked, LSU would have hung 70 on Florida without Les' interference!!!! Cam is probably resigning as we speak.

Cam called the plays so I think he was all-in on the game plan.

Yeah, every week Cam has been in complete control of the offense, except for this week. That's got to be it.

No way that Cameron and Les both thought the best way to beat a Florida team with 2 of the best corners in the nation (a team that relies on ball control to wear down opposing defenses) was to wear down their defense with the run game and keep ours on the sideline.

It gives a certain team to the east another thing to think about

IMO, it makes our team stronger knowing we can chunk it or pound
It

This was tactical

no. you can look at the number of passes thrown in a vacuum and say that, but when the opponent has the ball for 35 min, you're having success running the ball, and your passing game is a little out of synch, it makes things appear differently than they were. Mett missed several big throws that he usually makes that would have extended drives and led to more points. The fumbled snap after the big play to Landry didn't help things either. Towards the end of the game, we knew Florida couldn't score, so eating clock as best we could was the right call.

On another note, of course Cam said what he did. That's just coach speak at its finest. No way he was happy with what we did on offense, but at the same time, he's right we won, so who cares. It's not an indication we're overrated on offense. We just had a bad game but still did enough to win, so people need to chill out. I also tend to believe that the heat really sucked all the life out of the game. You could feel it in the stadium, just a miserable game until clouds rolled in in the second half.

This year is not about winning awards or the Heisman. It's about holding that crystal ball at the end of the season. I couldn't agree more with Cam.

One game, fans are fine. There will be a case of the red arse (with our fan base) if we have another performance that makes it appear that we are going back to three yards and a cloud of dust football.

great points. I don't think ppl realize the TOP discrepancy, we really didn't get a ton of plays off, and shot ourselves in the foot on a couple drives.

we'll bomb Ole Miss this wknd and all will be forgotten.

vanilla gameplan
It was used, but the pass game wasn't executed so well.
Only idiots infatuated with shiny things would continually try to run through plate glass until bloody to get at them.

The biggest reason, imo, is that Mett was a little off. Maybe it was QB/WR timing and maybe f.u. deserves some credit for it, but Mett missed some opportunities Saturday.

It's ok, that proves he's still human. Good thing was that our OL showed up and hammered, errr competed damned strongly against, Florida in the 2nd half. That was a thing of beauty. I appreciated it. I guess others don't like that kind of dominance.

You seem to know little or nothing about how the coaching staff works.
You're up against 2 of the best cornerbacks in college football, a defense that can pressure a quarterback, and a coaching staff that will have developed its gameplan to stop 2 of the best wide receivers and one of the best pocket passers in college football. So do you say, "I'm gonna let the game be decided by whether our best guys can beat their best guys,", or do you say, "Let's figure out a way to exploit their weaknesses while taking advantage of what they are assuming we're going to do."? Option 1 gives you the best shot at continuing to enjoy all pass, all the time football. Option 2 gives you the best chance to win.

but, but, but.......how many yards an offense gets is the MOST important determinant of how good they are. just like video games.
