Cade Doughty returns today — and at third base! Jordan Thompson moved to shortstop. Zach Arnold stayed at second.

The LSU lineup:
1. Crews, RF
2. Morgan, 1B
3. Doughty, 3B
4. Beloso, DH
5. Dugas, LF
6. Drost, CF
7. Arnold, 2B
8. Wyeth, C
9. Thompson, SS

As long as we get Blanko out, I'm good for now.

How much longer until Gio is back? Can’t be much longer.

That looks pretty solid to me. Wyeth and Malazzo are still somewhat interchangeable, with Malazzo having the slight edge, IMO.

Remember when Nola went to SS, and turned the season around. Pulmonary is hoping for a miracle

Why not throw Crews in the 3rd spot and see how that works out?

What I'd like to see:

1. Morgan, 1B
2. Dugas, RF
3. Crews, RF
4. Beloso, DH
5. Doughty, 3B
6. Drost, CF
7. Arnold, 2B
8. Wyeth, C
9. Thompson, SS

I don't really get it. Why not let guys play where they're most comfortable? Thompson has played 3B and Doughty has played 2B all season, and Arnold has played more SS than them both. Leads me to believe that Arnold does have arm issues. But whatever, glad to have Doughty back and to see what Thompson looks like at SS.

Well I don’t hate it.

I’ve about given up on Mainieri moving Crews down.

Thompson is a natural shortstop. He was moved to third because he and Arnold were battling for 3rd and whoever lost the battle was moving going to go their natural position of SS.

The coaching staff never doubted Thompson’s ability to play short.

Hasn't Dugas played third before?

Not sure why you wouldn't put Arnold at 3B and leave Doughty at 2B. I get the Thompson move. Unless Arnold has arm soreness. I still think you let Cranford compete with Thompson.

They're all natural shortstops.
