Yep... comparing 2018 tOSU stats to the totally revamped 2019 LSU stats makes no sense. No clue what the OP is using these numbers to say, but it’s a poor job.

Wasn’t Joe your quarterback last year? He’s fantastic but the quoted text above is disingenuous.

i was totally shouted down for suggesting last year that burrow was at least as good as haskins. it's clear now that burrow is significantly better. the rant owes me an apology - yet again.

Haskins looks lost everytime he steps into the field f ki r the Redskins
which should not be surprising to anyone who saw my stats last year when i was being excoriated for suggesting that burrow was as good as haskins

look at completion % for passes longer than 10 yards. burrow is killing haskins

should be pretty obvious. haskins was good at throwing behind the l.o.s. and a little bit of running. burrow is better at basically everything

so you don't understand. ok

Haskins - 3053 yards; 70.4%; 32 TDs; 6 INTs

Shouldn’t you compare Joes Jr stats.

Yeah they do! You called it. Haskins = better athlete, Jeaux Jeaux = better QB. There is a difference.

i love Joe but only a good wouldn’t look at the stats that Haskins had and see why he was the starter.

He threw fir 50 touchdowns and only 8 picks

Joe is Godlike this year. But this is a stupid thread

and this is how I know you never watched Ohio State play last year. Joe Burrow is better athletically than Dwayne Haskins and it’s not close.

We have no way of knowing. Burrow would’ve been last years Burrow.

I do know that Haskins has a spectacular year

If he had not I could see this thread. Continue

Doofus... that is the point of this thread. Burrow is having a BETTER season this year (1st 9 games vs 1st 9 games) than Haskins had last year:

Haskins - 3053 yards; 70.4%; 32 TDs; 6 INTs; (45 yards rush & 1 TD)
Burrow - 3198 yards; 78.9%; 33 TDs; 4 INTs: (189 yards rus & 3 TDs)

Check the mock drafts for verification. Most have Burrow as the #1 overall pick.

Nah, not really. As far as pass defense goes, Haskins faced two top 15 pass defenses while Burrow has faced one top 25 pass defense.

Bama sits at 38 in pass defense and TCU sits at 37 last year in pass defense.

Technically speaking, Haskins played one more good pass defense than Burrow did, but it really doesn't matter because neither played truly horrible in games. Haskins had a couple below average games though. Burrow has looked outstanding all year.

You can NOT be serious. So-called pass defense rankings are silly. They rank by one facet - yards against.

Do you SERIOUSLY believe Army, UAB, South Fla, and Florida Int'l have better pass defenses than every SEC team except Missouri? Do you believe Missouri has the best pass defense in the SEC?

Those are not serious rankings. There would be dozens of variables in a serious ranking. Those are spreadsheets that are sorted by one column.

C'mon man.

No. The point of this thread is to implicate the OSU coaching staff as making a HUGE mistake in choosing Haskins over Burrow.

I highlight two facts:

1. They compare Burrow and his stats this year to Haskins last year, the OSU coaches had to pick a starter last year.

2. Haskins had a spectacular year and performed very well, if you want to compare 2018 stats between the two, go ahead.

...none of this diminishes the season Burrow is having this year......I just have grown to despise the threads such as this that want to disparage someone or something. Burrows performance stands on its on this year. No need to diminish it with any further stupid discussions about OSU.

The coaches there went with the best info and feeling they had at the time, and by no means could you say they were wrong in regard to QB performance in 2018

Dude, Burrow is not 9-0; LSU is 9-0. Put Burrow on Tulane, and I promise you, he would not be 9-0. Why are we comparing Haskins to Burrow. That comparison was made years ago by folks a lot smarter than us, and they chose Haskins. I'd bet anything that Haskins WAS better than Burrow. He certainly looked a lot better than Burrow did last year.

We are very lucky that Haskins was the better QB, and that Burrow continued to hone his game. Now we have the best QB in college football. I believe that Burrow is considerably better than Haskins was back then. But who cares?
