Two completely different hitters. Dup is a guy that hits a lot of balls on the ground. Beloso is a power guy that doesn’t hit a lot of balls on the ground. Plus, having the 4 and 5 guys up with less than 2 outs is a lot better scenario than your 8 and 9 guys. Common sense.

I’m late to this thread were people really melting that CPM didn’t bunt the guy that will probably break the all time hits record in the sec?

Yes

But he hits into a ton of double plays. In fact in 2018, he hit into a whopping two.

The thing is not only does he move the runners but dupes can beat out the throw as well depending on the placement of the bunt.

He hit 2 GBP last year in 270 AB’s, go back to watching football.

Or he could have hit a HR like he did twice last night. Or a basehit like he will likely have done more than anyone in LSU history before his career is done.

What is a GBP? You must watch a lot of baseball. If you’re trying to say GDP, then how does that equate to him not being a ground ball hitter?

Good thing Manerri can recruit good kids. Because he’s an awful in game coach
Man haven't we seen this before in LSU sports? We're still dealing with it in one of those sports.
Looks like Will Wade is our only good X's and O's coach.

BUT last year in 270 AB’s, he only had 2 homeruns.

That one atbat was really productive. Fastforward to playoffs/World Series same scenario would have cost us

You're an idiot. Bunting is the smart play if you practice it. Failing 70 percent of the time is the norm.

Because they definitely won’t pitch around him with 2 outs, plus first and second open?? So they walk him and bases are loaded for the 5 hole. What pitchers have had success against LSU at Alex Box, late in the game, with bases the loaded and less than 2 outs?

You sir are a German Moron.

Have you seen our recent teams bunt???!

CPM is never right to you guys. When he would bunt a few years ago people would complain and when he doesn’t bunt those same people complain. No way are you bunting with your best hitter at the plate down 2 runs in the 8th. That’s all on Antoine not being able to execute, not MainierI
We as fans have something Mainieri doesn’t have the luxury of, and that’s hindsight. The armchair coach who doesn’t have an 1/8th of the knowledge of the game Mainieri has will always think they’re right in certain situations because they already know the outcome. It’s as simple as that.
