Ok, so I am watching the BTN in order to get their take on the Wisky game. It's hard work but someone has to do it.

They decided that the SEC had a rough week because USCe got trounced along with Vanderbilt. They forgot to mention that USCe got trounced by another SEC school.

I am still waiting for an opinions the LSU game. They better hurry, I can't take much more.

Yeah that makes no sense on South Carolina.

So when Vandy gets beat bad, the SEC is having a down year? The SEC must have sucked for the last 50 years minus a few seasons.

BTN has been extremely harsh on Wiscy. Harsh being relative as BTN is about as biased as SEC Network. Objectively, the B1G is better top to bottom than in previous years. I don't think anyone has said it is superior to the SEC.

Wiscy had the game won. Injuries, 2nd half play calling and lack of depth really did them in. None of these are excuses. They lost the game as much as LSU won the game. It's so very difficult to tell until at least October.

Wiscy will be a good win for you, but I think at this point in the season Wiscy falls behind MSU. Psssibly behind tOSU. Hard to say based on tOSU injuries and unproven defense. Nebby is in the same boat with injuries and played a cupcake. We played a better FCS school than Nebby's FBS opponent.

This I disagree with.

Football games are 60 minutes last time I looked. You have to play all 60 minutes. Or have you forgotten the 2005 Capital One Bowl?

LSU won. Wiscy did some very strange things in the second half. Again, it's August football. Anyone that says they know the significance of what happened Saturday night before October has no clue what they are talking about.

It could be a good win, it could be an average win.

I didn't say LSU didn't deserve to win. They did everything they needed to do when it mattered. I only said Wiscy made some 2nd half mistakes and lost the game as much as LSU won it. That point is debatable. Maybe Wiscy made it easier for LSU to win. I'm not sure.

Wisky lost the game when they put it in the hands of their QB.
I felt good every time he did not hand it off to one of those two backs.

Legit. Reasons are different than excuses. I'm not excusing Wiscy one bit. It was actually quite embarrassing.

I know people keep saying this, but they did what they had to. We sold out to stop the run by run blitzing every play in the 2nd half, they had 8 carries for 20 yards after their opening drive. After we figured out our DBs could blanket their WRs all game and McEvoy couldnt hit the broadside of a barn we stuffed 8 guys in the box and kept meeting the RBs in the backfield instead of letting Wisconsin's OL open up huge holes in our front 4.

It was an adjustment we made that affected their running game and forced them to start throwing it if they wanted to move the ball.

the SEC has not made many friends in the last decade or two. therefore there are those in the wings secretly (or not) hoping for cracks to develop.

i'm old enough to remember when the big 10 was pretty dominate. ohio state and Michigan fought it out for NC's a lot back in the day. I guess it's our turn. who knows how long before the big 10, notre dame and the pac 10 return to the top.

This, the run game was shut down and they were forced to throw after that opening drive.

I agree, but not sure why they had to throw down field. They had TE on LB mismatches in the middle, and opportunity for tunnel, bubble and receiver screens wide open to them.

Again, I'm not taking anything away from the come from behind win, I'm just saying Wiscy called some strange pass plays given how your defense cheated up.

If LSU and Wisconsin played again in Houston this weekend, what do you think would happen? I think LSU would be more aggressive down the field for all 4 quarters and would win going away.

If LSU and Wiscy played again this weekend, LSU should, read that should, win by two scores. Maybe more.

If LSU played anyone else that was decent last Saturday, and they had a play action threat, and any amount of depth on DL it might not go the same way.

It's the first game of the year. No one really knows anything yet except the sky isn't falling and no one has been crowned the National Champion yet.

GTFO move on to the Big Ten boards. We beat you last year playing vanilla and just did the same to Wisky.

Quit making excuses and what ifs, move on!

So had LSU played a team with Wisconsin's run game, a good QB, good WRs and deep DL, LSU may have lost the game. The only team I can think of that may fit that description is Alabama.

Oh, there might be a couple more teams around the country that fit this description.

It will be interesting to watch next week. The "experts", whoever they are, always say the largest improvements are made between weeks 1 and 2.
