And that's what the media forgets when they talk about Kelly LSU. We had two bumbling buffoons that won titles. Just think if we had a good coach, how many titles we would have won or could have won? And how many less titles Nick Saban would have.

Same. I was a student during the Les era, then O, and now everyone's thinking "Wait, LSU can hire a coach that speaks normally?" Still not used to it.

Louisianians have such a weird inferiority complex, and a big part of their identity and self-worth comes from how others perceive LSU’s head coach. Would rather go 9-3 with a coach everybody else wants or “respects” than win championships with “cartoon characters.”

I literally could not give any less of a shite what any other fanbase in the world thinks about our coach as long as it doesn’t affect recruiting and we win.

That said, I am pretty pumped about Kelly and what the program can become with a much more detail-oriented visionary who can articulate and sell that vision. The stars may not align for him to win a NC here (I think they will), but he is gonna create an absolute—sustainable—monster for his successor. Much like Saban did.
