"He knows the SEC. He knows the competition. He knows what to expect, and he understands this football team. He has weapons around him, and he [understands] how important it is to get them the football. I think that's probably what he learned throughout the season. He has to get the ball down the field and let them (receivers) make plays.----What we were talking about last year was not only learning the (QB) position and how it fits into our offense but learning him and figuring out what he knew. Now we know his strengths and what he needs to work on. That's what the spring was for, to force him to improve what he needs to work on and add to our offensive structure.-- He had 17 passing touchdowns and 11 rushing touchdowns. We'd like to get those passing touchdowns into the high 20s. In addition to the threat of a quarterback being able to run, that's where great things start to happen in your offense."

Brian Kelly also stated Garret's presence throughout spring practice pushed Jayden significantly to work on his passing.

BK also added that this team will be ready for our Week 1 matchup against Florida State. BK understands how talented FSU is and he said it's a "great way to open the season but won't define us" and that winning that game would be "a huge piece to the trajectory of our football season."

I think JD5 is going to have an awesome season.

Sky’s the limit if he lets it rip.

I think he is too. I believe Nuss' success throwing the ball downfield has given him the motivation to take more chances downfield since our receivers will almost always have the advantage over any db in 1 on 1 coverage.

Also, feel very comfortable with Nuss playing if needed. His decision making a year ago was not good, he made way too many ill advised passes into coverage.

Time will tell, but I think JD5 is going to have great year and that's not a knock on GN13. I think both are capable of winning be it JD5 legs or GN13's gunslinger ability and extending the the play. I wonder how it will go if JD5 struggles, if BDk will pull JD5 for GN13 or BDK will let JD5 be and reserve GN13 for large leads. It will be interesting to see how this season plays out between BDK, JD5 and GN13.

Again, Coach Kelly is saying how improved Daniels is and how well he has learned the system.

The fact that Daniels has been in competition against very talented quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has had a lot to do with his progress.

He has earned the job, and well deserves to be the starting quarterback. Unlike last year's optimistic assessment by Coach Kelly, all reports indicate Daniels has been living up to the praise and seems to be responding very well to the teaching and encouragement of offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock.

Both QBs will play depending upon who is hot and the opponent.

At least I hope...

Blah blah blah I’ll believe all this understanding stuff when he lets it rip instead of one read and run.

But does Florida State have a warm up game against some no-name directional school the week prior like they did last year? Because if we get Southern first THEN FSU in 2022, LSU wins that game and finishes 11-3, not 10-4.

No, FSU does not get a warmup game like last year.

Clear expectations and a common understanding of where the offense is as well as the players within it.

Hard not to be excited about the state of football!

I realize Kelly's only had one year here, but he seems pretty frank. Comparing him to Les Miles and his fricking bullshite is a bit premature.
