LSU invests in land directly across the river in WBR Parish. Buy at least 2 ferries. Run them during football and other main events.
People can walk the short distance once they've docked on the EBR side. They just gripe about traffic after the games. This helps with contraflow.

Not the worst idea I've ever heard

They should build a gondola lift across the river.

Actually not a bad idea.
Problem is who’s going to pay for the ferries and the employees? Also the freight traffic on the river has to be considered too but that’s why boats have radios. Some tugs and barges are hooked to mooring buoys so they’re not moving anyway so there’s no chance of collision with those, the ones that are moving would have the right of way, at least I would think, because they can’t exactly stop on a dime. North and south freight traffic and east/west ferry traffic. But they have it in New Orleans so....
But it is a good idea overall, strange it’s never been brought up before.

What about an underground tunnel like the drug cartels . I mean the way those boys work it could be ready by March they have the blueprint talk about putting a feather in the AD hat .

You have no idea what ferries cost do you?
Far cheaper to build a parking garage in the long run.
Have you ridden a ferry across the river lately? one of the most ineffiencent modes of transportation
Slow does not even begin to describe it

Necking down I-10 to one lane needs to be resolved.

Yes! Then I'd set up my own business taking people separately on customized bass boats for a nominal fee.

If it’s a great idea you do it. The readon neither you, nor anyone else, will do it is because it is a huge money loser. It’s extremely expensive to build the docks, buy the ferrys, build the embarkation facilities. And all of this to operate seven days per year? Come on?

Gondolas—-that reminds me of a Justin Wilson joke.
Boudreaux went to Venice, Italy and came back with an idea to promote tourism In the parish by having the Police Jury buy a bunch of Gondolas and put them on the bayou.
Thibodeaux stood up and said, “I don’ tink we need ta spend a lotta money on no bunch of gondolas. Just buy a male gondola and a female gondola and let nature take its course!”
In the 70s, that got a big laugh.

LSU can do a much better job with traffic management than they’ve done in the past 20 years.
Prior to the inner campus becoming elite territory, we tailgated near the student union. For a couple of seasons, the traffic cops routed us to a dead end at the lake after every game. We had to u-turn there, then come back to turn on highland. But they forced us into that dead end first, every time.

Use Cajun Navy or perhaps a rent-a-pirogue type of deal?...

No, just the smell of vomit from drunk Tiger fans.

O/U of How many drunk fools fall into the river each game day?
Posted on 11/25/17 at 9:59 am to CajunBattles
That's not a bad idea. I can imagine LSU not wanting to undertake the liability involved in trafficking fans across a waterway but your idea has merit.
