He just gave sole credit to Nick Saban for the targeting rule in football because Saban doesn't like to coach against the hurry-up, spread type attacks and used the excuse of "player safety" to try to discourage them.

The first year of the targeting rule if it was reviewed and they decided it wasn't targeting the 15 yard penalty was still enforced.
Just for the record Saban was the most vocal about how dumb that was and was the driving factor in them fixing that part of the rule to where now they remove the penalty also.

Saban wasn't the reason that the targeting rule came about, which is what Moscona claimed. He said that Saban was against the hurry-up type offenses and so the targeting rule came about. It's a preposterous assertion.

Ask Moscona. He's the one who said that the "targeting" rule came about due to Saban's being against the hurry-up offense ostensibly due to "player safety." Moscona should realize that that wasn't why Saban is against the "hurry-up."
