LA Tech is a decent mid-major, hell I even saw a few of the nega-Tigers/Orgeron doomsday posters saying that this was a losable game before the season started

I don't think there is any chance of y'all losing this game, but I do think we will find out how much Orgeron has grown as a coach and how focused he has this team

If y'all come out and dominate after the type of emotional win we saw last week, that would speak volumes about who Orgeron is as a coach and for your direction as a program

If we see a sloppy game that LSU struggles in, as I suspect we will, it does not mean everything is going to hell; but it would definitely make me think that Orgeron still has a lot of room for improvement

I think I like LA Tech +22 this week

I agree with this.

I hope SLU was because of the O line but LSU hasn't had the killer instinct since Little Nicky.

I am basing LA Tech and the points on a) hangover after big win & b) a lot of your guys being banged up

I also think the line moves bigger

I've said it before--Tech can and will put up points against pretty much anyone. DBU needs to show up against a real air-raid offense and impress. Next, this offense needs to show that's it's truly a meshed, well-oiled machine. We need to see what we should have seen against Southeastern.

Agreed. O has a chance to ride this wave of momentum for a while, coming out and putting a solid beatdown on Tech would keep the ream riding high.

I agree.

The best coaches don't have bad let down games.

What makes Saban great is that he is perpetually miserable. He's more worried about every little detail of over single play of every single game to worry about the big picture. He rarely allows himself to get excited.

This is where O has to walk the line of keeping his team's confidence high while also making sure they know they aren't as good as they think they are. Today is one of those days where everyone is going to want to tell the players how good they are. O has to make sure they know there were still a ton of mistakes vs. Auburn and that LSU hasn't played their best game yet. Keep them hungry and angry.

pretty much. LSU will probably come out flat and finish Tech off in the second half, but if O wanted to show that this team has some 2011 in them, they will go into halftime with a 35-3 lead.

You're right......Little Nicky dominated every inferior opponent:

2000 - Beat Houston 28-13 (blowout!)
2000 - Lost to UAB (losing doesn't count...unless it's Coach O....right?)
2001 - Beat Utah State 31-14 (another blowout!)
2001 - Beat Middle Tenn St 30-14 (that's close, but we won't count this one either)
2002 - Beat The Citadel 35-10 (but The Citadel is pretty good....they have marines and stuff).

If I was Orgeron, tell the truth Monday would be very unpleasant.

I'd be so focused on what we did wrong, you'd probably think we'd lost the game. I'd be on them all week telling them they're not nearly as good as they think they are.

Well, when you look at where Harbaugh is at Michigan after having several years to get his team in place, you can see it's an inexact science. Fisher's success isn't a given, especially since he's in the SEC West. And Lord, Taggert may not get a second year at FSU. All those guys would have been a better hire at LSU according to the Rant.

Sort of agree, but been around LSU long enough to know we will win, but win ugly.

Likely get out to a 21 point lead then not sniff another TD or FG and rely on the defense to hold them off.

The let down game was SLU. We're only getting better from here offensively.

This.
It's the culture of LSU football, and it goes back to the 1980s. The let-down games, the playing down to your opponents level or playing up to your opponents' level.

Even since 1/9/12, we played with Alabama, the score wasn't indicative of how hard our defense played, and even in the losses ever since, we've been toe-to-toe with them, on the whole, save for the scoring. They're better than LSU, but LSU played with them and forced them to suffer for those wins against the Tigers.

But, in comes Troy; in comes SLU which should have, given the talent and size disaprity, been 56-0, 63-0. You know, as a kid, I don't recall Coach Mac's teams ever letting up against inferior competition in Tiger Stadium. But since Mike Archer, at least, LSU schedules these wildly inferior teams and struggles against them.

Already hedging in case there's a poor performance against Tech?
