Greedy hands down. Brumfield was expected to contribute since he was a preseason starter.
Not many people, including myself ever expected Greedy to have such an impact. Give him credit, he took full advantage of Toliver's suspension. Hope to see him keep on contributing the rest of the year. He has that X factor and is in the right places at the right time

Really surprised with our WRs, was supposed to be as usual a problem area for LSU. Let's face it in the past if they didn't have game experience, it's like they couldn't progress, that looks different now. Of course game reps will make them much better but you should progress some even in training or practices if they are any good.
Thompson, Greedy, and Etling have been a surprise to me. I thought Thompson would be good because Aranda said he was one of the better pass rushers but I didn't think he would be this good or effective.
I don't think people realize how huge it is that our WRs have made such a big leap forward from past years when we didn't have experience coming back. I'm not terribly surprised with the OL, I always thought that was way overblown. I think Orgeron was more or less talking about our future depth at OL as the real big issue not in 2017.
They really need to go find some JC top lineman to fill these voids or we may be in some trouble next year. We need the juniors to come back for another year which I think they should. They aren't ready for the next level just yet. That needs to be expressed to them in a major way. If Chi would have come back this year he could have worked on sooooooo much and not have to worry about making a team while working on it. He had his flaws and they could have been fixed this year.
Lots of improvements in 2017 and this is Orgerons first year on the job. As long as he keeps his fire then LSU should be fine. His training methods are proving to be exactly what LSU has needed. This team believes in what they are teaching and that's huge for a team to grow.
I like how O brings in these specialist to teach flawless technique, then he brings the toughness, and hardwork mentality to the team. He's instilling what makes him good as a coach and letting his assistants instill what makes them good as coaches. Put it all together and it makes for a great mix, so for so good. GT

I would have to say Greedy - obviously we knew someone would have to replace Tre White at a corner spot, but I think his surge to #1 has been a pleasant surprise, as has been his reliability thus far.
Brumfield always seemed to have the tools - it just takes longer for some OL to grow into the role in college. I don't think he surprises me as much as the other G spot being held up quite nicely so far with Ingram and Charles.
Dillon coming on has been a good thing and somewhat unexpected as well.

Hope Chark keeps returning punts.

I've actually been waiting for more stars to get in on the special team action, like Micheal Clayton kickoff gunners, Patrick peterson, Devery henderson, mo claiborne, Dominick Davis. Man I love putting the stars out there and legit holding your breath for the play to break open every special teams punt or kickoff return or coverage. Love it that he is out there

I'm a little surprised we are using our best receiver at punt returner though
In 2011, the Honey Badger basically won the game by himself at punt returner against Georgia & Arkansas.
Chark is a YUGE weapon at PR.

I guess Chark hasn't been a surprises because he was our best WR last year but what I meant was the jump he's made from his sophomore to senior year has been incredible. He's a legitimate 1st round prospect and 2 years ago we all thought he would just be another practice all star in Les Miles/Cameron's archaic arse scheme.

Not to hijack the thread but...
That Arkansas game was one of my favorite times to be in TS. I also think its significantly underrated when we have the loudest moments discussions.

I think Grant Delpit has been great, Tyler Taylor at LB has been really good, Kary Vincent already has a pick too, and Chaisson looks great as well. Shot out to all the True Freshman, this is a great class.

Brumfield has been the best lineman on the roster for the past 2 seasons. He's not a surprise.

The level Greedy and Brumfield have played at are surprises or else the coaches would have been starting them. Ridiculous to think that coaches would deliberately sit the better player outside of injuries or disciplinary issues, which neither of these two had.

Wow. Brum certainly worthy of the early season praise but best lineman on the team the last 2 years? Better than All SEC and 58th overall pick Pocic and All SEC Will Clapp. Uh ok...

you have hit it on the head. and the damn O detractors say he does nothing and his co-ordinators do it all. and, as old as he is, hiring pete Jenkins was a stroke also; he is mr technique on the DL. a TEAM is just that; a TEAM. when teams are dominated by one player like the aggies with JFF and Louisville with Jackson they just aren't as good.
