I don't see why people are making such a big deal over this. There was a good chance Guice wasn't getting drafted in the first round anyway and if he did loose his cool with Philly staff then that's on him. The NFL can draft whoever they want and when they want, no player is entitled to a certain slot.

If Guice produces and has a good attitude he will be fine and rake in the money on that second contract. The ball is in his court to make it happen.

People are making a big deal over this because there have been these sudden questions on his character and behavior and also, do you really think there are seven running backs better than Guice? People are questioning his sexuality, calling his Mom a prostitute, saying he has sexual assault cases pending, fighting with Eagles personnel, etc.

All these rumors were BS and Mayock/Rapaport were feeding into them all night. It’s a weird situation and thus a big deal.

It’s the truth. He’s a good kid. Hope he does well for Washington.

Out of all the muck that was his draft plunge, it basically sounds like his lack of maturity scared off most teams. They hand these kids big checks and we’re clearly concerned how he would handle himself.

Poor representation, which isn’t talked about relative to Guice other than his firing his prior agent, likely played a part in this as well.

At the end of the day, Guice has to own some of as well.

So the gist of it is Guice is a good kid, immature, needs to lessen his social media involvement, and his agent did him ZERO favors in handling the situation.

What maturity issues was described he plays video games which 90% of people do whether it’s on a phone or game console. You can’t label that as immature that’s today’s society and social media is the same way. 45 has 2 million tweets and he’s in charge of the United States

It doesn't matter. If the NFL execs are wrong, and they frequently are, Guice will prove that he is a steal and that the teams that passed were wrong.
There is ton on hypocrisy in the NFL.
Mayfield was drunk, belligerent and arrested last summer and grabbed his crotched on the field. He doesn't have maturity and character issues? The one position that teams should value maturity is QB and the Browns took Baked Mayfield first overall.

The media is akin to the National Inquirer today. Any rumor, real or false becomes fact in the mind of public opinion.

The LSU source said “he never failed a drug test, and we test more than anybody”

Why the frick do we test more than anybody?

Definitely some shady shite going on, Mayfield (who I like) definitely had more character issues than Guice and that propelled him to #1 in the draft. I don't buy the BS story on Guice and if he did get into an altercation with Philly staff then it was probably warranted. Guice don't seem like the instigating type and never displayed that type behavior so if he got a bad rap for defending himself then so be it and good for him, I wouldn't let anyone push me around either no matter who they are.

I’m a Guice fan. Big time . But all this ignores the FACT that there have been very SPECIFIC unsubstantiated rumors about his behavior on campus floating around for over a year . I know this because people on campus shared them with me at the time and since then. Something may or may not have occurred but my guess is that the standard NFL investigations heard these same rumors . And it doesn’t matter if they are true or not, if somebody is just undermining him to harm him even, if it makes itself into team prospect reports, he was bound to sink in the draft . The NFL will run with a rumor because their first priority is to protect themselves. They aren’t going to necessarily track down the truth of a thing , they are just going to factor in the possibility that it Could be true when they draft.

Regardless, Guice gets to prove now that he’s a beast and if he lives right he can achieve every dream he ever had and we can pull for him and hope he succeeds.

They mentioned this last night in the draft and said it could cause issues for him and the team that drafts him....whatever that means.

It has to be one of two (2) issues - (1) maturity issues are real and were evident during the interview process and how he conducted himself or (2) his draft status was manipulated by some teams.

(2) just doesn’t seem realistic given the broad number of teams involved with taking an early rounds pass on him. Therefore, I would chalk this up to maturity concerns.

He is one of our guys and want him to do well. I will be surprised if he doesn’t leverage what has occurred to his advantage.

I suspect he will have a brief, but productive NFL career given the position he plays, his running style and his being susceptible to injury in his college career. When he is “on” he is awesome to watch and I hope he kicks arse.

See now that’s a bridge too far because that implies some kind of impending criminal charges. And there has been ZERO reports or legitimate speculation on that and he has continued to be at the center of the program. There has been no attempt by LSU to distance themselves from him. And that’s the first thing schools do when the behavior of a player embarrasses them.
