Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons joined NBA royalty during Tuesday's 121-95 win over the Brooklyn Nets, becoming just the second player in NBA history to record at least 1,200 points, 600 assists and 600 rebounds in his rookie season, according to Basketball-Reference.com.

The other player: Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, who accomplished the feat in 1960-61 for the Cincinnati Royals.

With 15 points and 12 rebounds against the Nets, Simmons recorded his 36th double-double, which is tops among rookies. He also has 11 triple-doubles this season, also tops among rookies and third among all players behind Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook and Cleveland’s LeBron James.

I just really wish he gave a shite while he was here and didn't come back and act like we held him hostage.

First, you post this:

Then, you post this:

awful leader and teammate at least when he was here
You're really trying too hard.

You posted ELEVEN times in the last Simmons thread.

But I appreciate how you attempt to denigrate him on non-statistical opinions. You know, bullshite where you don't need to provide evidence to support your opinion.

Because if you look at the evidence, if you look at the facts, you see that Simmons was an amazing leader and teammate.

Simmons led the team in all major statistical categories: 19 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2.0 steals, 1 block, while shooting 56.0% from the field

Simmons is the only SEC player ever to be top 5 in all major categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and
blocks.

Are you going to post ELEVEN times in this thread too?

Because I'm sure if you keep posting your subjective opinion without the burden of offering facts, people might start to believe you.

True. But in his defense, he never cared about going to college or Lsu. Just went because he had to go somewhere. Would've been nice to see what he could've done if he cared about college bball. But honestly, if he did care, would he have come to play for Johnny jones?

He was a true Freshman. Unless you are at Kentucky, most of those guys aren't asked to be "leaders". No doubt he was self-absorbed. But can you blame him? LSU, in their infinite stupidity, made him the SOLE identity of their marketing campaign going into that season. That, despite the fact, they also had two other top 50 freshman (Blakeney and Sampson) as well as returning players from a NCAAT team the previous year.

I've said it a million times, but Simmons absolutely lived up to expectations at LSU. Unfortunately, so did Johnny Jones. Even before Simmons arrived Jones was as "hands off" a major college coach you could ever find. When Simmons arrived, the game plan on offense was "Simmons. You take the ball and do what you want." Defensively, you could defend if you wanted to, but it wasn't required.

The Simmons year was the ultimate catch-22. He wouldn't have been at LSU but for Jones (who hired David Patrick). However, Jones wasn't anywhere close to a good enough coach to get the most out of that particular team.

not making the tournament and getting blown out 4 times down the stretch while losing 6 of the last 10 is subjective? That's not evidence of anything? Really?

Performance on the court isn't an indicator of whether someone is or isn't an "amazing leader and teammate."

ETA: Would love if some of the people who downvoted would explain how I'm wrong...
