Are Alleva and Jones having a talk about the season or was CJJ's press conference the last we'll hear about the season? This article continues the criticisms of the LSU basketball program. Hopefully, this may help lead to a review of one and done.

"Ben Simmons' lone year in college was a colossal waste of everyone's time"

It’s hard for me to believe that Simmons’ game was developed all that much in his one year at college. He played on a disappointing LSU team that underperformed wildly. His coach, Johnny Jones, seemed in over his head from the start and did little to improve the part of his game that Simmons needed working on — his shooting.

apparently true.

Johnny was in over his head on day 1. He needed to set the tone early on how things were gonna be done, and he didn't do that. It's just not his personality, which isn't a bad thing. Things went south quickly after that tho.

I'm trying to think of a bigger work than colossal, but it is escaping me

total failure.

It is the beginning of the end for Johnny Jones's time here at LSU. watching all of these teams in the NCAA tournament with great coaching and less talent is frustrating. Johnny Jones is a weak leader and all around terrible coach.

I would rather have 1 Thomas Walkup from SFA than 100 Ben Simmons

Walkup managed to LEAD his team to an NCAA tournament victory with a team that was not nearly as athletically talented as his opponent.

While Simmons is the better talent and will be the better professional player (assuming Walkup ever plays professional basketball in the U.S.), Walkup was the better college player in my book.

Walkup was a 4-5th year senior, played excellent on the big stage, out worked better players, class act, looked like he cared, made his team better around him, dude was a beast in the couple games I watched

What's retarded is tge effort LSU played with all season, and their free throw percentage. I believe walkup missed maybe 1 during 30 or so attempts during the tourney

Unless Brad Underwood came with Walkup, it would not have made much difference.

Jones has been coaching his way to mediocre results for 16 years. Ben Simmons was only on the roster for one of those. So who is more likely to blame for LSU's underachieving season?

No I definitely agree Jones needs to go, he was the biggest problem. I was just mentioning from a player stand point, you also have to have guys with heart. Simmons knew he was one and done, his focus wasn't on anything but himself and going to the next level --- Walkup isn't going to the NBA, his focus was going out with a win his senior year, played for the team

Why don't you ask Alleva or Jones? You really think anyone on this board knows? You are a stupid fricker!

You need players who truly care about playing at LSU. I understand folks going pro at some point and good for them. However, my passion is with the college program whether it's football, baseball, or basketball. Unfortunately, my interest in LSU basketball has waned a lot in recent years. They really need to find a better coach.

You know- had JJ done just one thing- make team shoot free throws every practice until they were 80 plus percent. For instance- "for practice this week if you hit 10 in a row you are free to go do whatever you want. You can leave", motivated them to make them- we would have won 6-7 more games than we did and made the tourny. Yeah I know this is simple minded but you get the point.
Well some of you get the point.....

And another thing- Epps showed some great flashes at times. He was a scoring threat compared to Malone who brings zero. Absolutely zero. Can't jump can't rebound. Does not shoot. Fouls every time down the court bc of all the above...so why he not play over Malone? Crazy
