Worst fricking thing about sports. Coaches outdated idea that we can't have unity and control or our best play w people being individuals and drawing attention to themselves. Trust me, me and another linemen were yelled at for that drivel after a game we lost. He apologized afterwards but its pretty annoying going through high school w baby face because of dumb shite. That drove me nuts for four years.
Edit: To be clear, they qualified having facial hair as drawing attention to yourself basically. I didn't know they took that dumb shite to college or pro level.

What a smooth brain take. Coaches coach and players practice and play. Whether or not a college kid has a dumb mustache or long hair or whatever is fricking meaningless.

I’ve seen other teams with full beards, sleeved tats, crazy hair all play just fine.

Why don't you take 5 minutes to look through antiquity and see how many scholars, scientists, and titans of industry had facial hair?
I've known too many well groomed morons to presume this has any validity.
