I think we would be a 5 seed right now, which is awesome because we have been playing our C game, imo.

We certainly haven't even approached the ceiling of what this team has the potential to be come tournament time.

As mentioned, Arky and St Mary’s are both really close to being quad 1 wins. On the flip side, neutral win over Charleston is on the verge of becoming a quad 3 (Charleston is 100 in NET) but hanging on as quad 2 for now.

The win over Ole Miss bumped LSU up 10+ spots overall and even more on the defensive efficiency side. This team has been a very efficient offense all season. If they can put out the defensive effort they put out vs. Ole Miss on a nightly basis, then they could REALLY take off.

To quote Kermit Davis, "that's as hard as I've seen LSU defend all year." I think the only other time they've defended that hard was vs. FSU. That shows they have the ability to do so and are willing to turn it on when the opponent is top notch. The question is can Wade get them to play that way (or close to it) every night?

What are the different quadrants again?

Quadrant one wins are those home games vs. teams RPI ranked 1-30, neutral games vs. 1-50, and away games vs. 1–75. For example, a home win against a top 30 team would qualify as a quadrant one victory.

A Quadrant 2 win are those at Home against the RPI 31–75, neutral 51–100, and away victories over the RPI 76–135.

Etc etc....

I dont think the metrics are gonna hold us back. I think we just have to win games. It's exciting. The resume is looking as strong as LSU has had in a long long time.

we’re a 4 seed against Hofstra in the latest Andy Katz bracketology. Virginia as 1 seed and Texas Tech as 2 seed.

Question.. are these quadrant wins adjusted at end of season or at time of play.. like say Ole Miss absolutely tanks the rest of season, is it still quad 1 bc of their ranking at the time?

Is this a strong enough resume to put us in the 5-6 seed range for the tourney? Or are we still closer to 9-10 at this point in the season?

I think we ultimately end up in a 3 or 4 seed.

It's a "body of work" metric so yea it's adjusted to year end. It doesn't take into account that a specific team may have been hot or cold. That is a human element that the selection committee is allowed to use.
