That's solidly in NIT territory if they can finish strong.

That was before the Missouri win I think. Should go up to the 60s after today.

I saw it at 82 earlier today, but regardless it's going up.

Nah, it includes today's win. LSU was in the 80's prior to the game today.

The bad news is that Mizzou is the last big RPI booster on the schedule (until possibly the SECT). However, if LSU can go 3-1 in the last 4 (which would mean at least one road win) they could likely work their way into the 60's

Yea, those losses to Vandy and Stephen F. Austin don't seem bad at all now. Plus Tigers have 7 wins vs top echelon teams.

This...and those are not just merely top 50 RPI wins....all are against teams currently rated 28 or higher in the RPI.

Finish 3-1 (certainly not a given, but the last 4 teams we play we are not overmatched by) and scrap out a couple in the tourney, maybe even one more of those against another Top 30 RPI team....man that would give us a pretty strong case.

Now, can we do that....I have my doubts, but there's that glimmer of hope and I'm just glad and proud this team has even give me that glimmer. I would not have thought as much to start the year, I can promise you.

This season is weird as hell. LSU is beating all these good teams and losing to pretty bad ones. That's what happens when you have a team that isn't used to winning and loses focus.

It just depends on what the committee puts the most emphasis on. Some seasons it's RPI, some it's road wins, etc.. Maybe we'll get lucky and this season it'll be tier 1 wins.

Look, I'm a realist. We have not shown enough consistency of good play honestly to think we can finish 3-1 and win two games in the tourney Boat.

But.....but, if it clicks at the right time and we do, that could mean 8 RPI top 30ish wins potentially and 20 overall wins. That would be hard for the committee to ignore. It would be brought up every time our name is mentioned.

The 4 or 5 teams that have been selected in the RPI 60's, which I think LSU would be if they finished up this way....I'd be willing to bet it was because of the quality and number of highly rated teams they beat.
