With Brad Underwood bolting for Illinois, Indiana open, Cal open, Washington open, things are about to get busy. Hope Alleva finds our guy and locks him up. If he's going to make a run at Brey, that needs to happen in the next 24 hours, otherwise move on because dominos are going to start falling.

For those who think Kermit Davis is garbage, I'll bet he's at a P5 school next year. His last 6 seasons have made him a good candidate for a high major job.

Doubtful unless it is LSU. It would be a catastrophic hire for LSU, but I expect no more from Joe Alleva.

Davis may not want to leave. Been there a long time, almost 60 yrs old. Along with the money he's made, he could end up with a nice state retirement check in 4-5 years.

There are MUCH better names out there. We are at the bottom of the barrel, a national joke(thanks to Alleva's last hire). If we are ever going to shoot our shot to be relavent nationally this is our moment. I don't want to rise back to "SEC" mediocrity.

Or take the Johnny Jones route. Pay day from LSU and then retire in 5 years.

Florida paid Mike White $2mm/yr for 6years. While White was a hot up and coming name amongst hoops junkies, he was far from a proven name. Shoot for the sexy names and if you miss, go after a young, up and coming coach. This hire doesn't need to be a safe pick, we are currently at dumpster fire status.

Intrigued by the guy at Illinois State, Muller. Been there 5 years and has done well in the MVC. Tied with Wichita State for the title, was an Asst at Vandy for 12 years. Only makes $400,000/year. Anyone have any more info on Muller?

Davis isn't my first choice, but if you idiots don't see how he is a major upgrade, then you don't understand college basketball.

He has maximized his talent and his teams are fundamentally sound on the defensive end of the floor. If we had a coach that could do that, we would have been in the Tournamet 4 of the last 5 years and likely would have made it to the second weekend at least once if not twice.

Dude has won more tournament games at MTSU in the last two years than LSU has won total in the last decade.

lol 99% of the coaches in the NCAA would be an upgrade from jones.

If he is so great a bigger program would have snatched him up by now. But the lsu way is hiring guys no one else wants so I am expecting him to get the job.

Good coach. I really wanted to see them make the tournament because I believe they were good enough to win at least one game.

Entertaining to watch as well. I went to their game against Loyola here in Chicago and they were impressive. They also beat Dayton and A&M in recent years.

He was Stallings' main recruiter at Vandy and they weren't as good when he left for ISU, so I believe he'd bring solid players.

Not qualifying for the tournament yet might cool folks on him, but he was obviously pretty vocal after Selection Sunday about power conference teams not wanting to play them. He'd be a sneaky hire, but I'd be optimistic about it.

I really like the idea of Pasternek but it's a risk. Associate HC at Arizona and former UNO head coach. Great recruiter and been at a top 12 program the last few years. Just no major HC experience yet

Get a life? Why because I made an observation about a coach that you didn't agree with?

Again, I hear people trashing Davis and I really don't get it. He's won a conference championship at two different stops. He's taken two teams to the NCAA tournament. His success at MTSU is trending up. Just seems like there is some benefit to a guy that has been around and had success at different stops, over a 35-40 year old coach that has had success at one stop.

Davis has won 67% of his conference games over 18 years as a D1 coach. That's pretty consistent success. Overall he's won 62% of his games with 17 of the 18 seasons being at mid-major stops. Not sure why people act like this is the second coming of Johnny Jones who had a career .500 record and a career .500 conference record before LSU.
