i don't disagree that SEC and CWS are more important then an SEC west title.

but think about this team the last two years.

2010 season, strong start then struggled at the end of the season having to beat mississippi state to have a chance in hoover and win the SEC conference tournament to make it to the post season (who knows if we would have made it if we didn't win the SEC tournament)

2011 season, even worse then the 2010 season our offense is no where, and we are a game or two away from even making it to the SEC tournament. Don't make the post season and peole are starting to question whether CPM is actually a good coach.

so what do you expect out of this season. We have some strong starting pitching yes but we did the last couple of years and look where it got us. we were going to be better but offense probably was going to be sub par again. I personally was questioning even with the 10 team bracket if we were going to make it. I think realistic expectations were top 3 at best in the SEC west, top 5 maybe in the SEC overall, and probably traviling again to a regional as a 2 or 3 seed.

but then boom this team turns the corner wins the SEC west has a good chance at getting an top 8 seed will host a regional, without question now, and have a good chance to go to the CWS.

I'm a fan who doesn't have National title expectations every single season and I have been very pleasantly surprised by this baseball team.

the football teams success has spoiled this fan base and they expect perfection from all 3 major sports, and then when one small thing goes wrong they call for the coaches head and say we are the worse team ever to play at LSU.

remember our history for these sports.

LSU baseball looks great for the future, and we have good chances this season. Baseball is a funny sport a team like vandy can beat arguably the best two teams in the SEC when they are struggling to stay above 500, and a 4 seed can win a national championship, never forget fresno state. Never count this team out of anything, this isn't football, one loss doesn't kill your chances at greatness.

I wish this board was around for 1997 when we lost 28-2 against Alabama during our 3 game SEC losing streak the last two weekends of the regular season with those losses a combined 50-7.

Our fans now-a-days expect wayyyy too much from our teams.

If that happened again this next weekend, a lynch mob would not surprise me from these rantards.

Sunny, how right you are. I noticed how juvenile the posters are when LSU loses a game. Whenever LSU wins, these asshats seldom bitch, but when LSU loses, the coach and players are constantly bitched at. My thought is this, if any of these clowns can coach or play better, then why aren't their asses out on that field?
