For those who’ve gone to the first 2 games, were the ticket marshals in your sections acting like the gestapo? I went today, and one of the dudes down the right field line almost made the whole game experience not worth it. A younger couple behind me briefly took off their mask to take a photo together before the game even started and he started yelling at them and said if he had to tell them twice he’d be forced to eject them. The whole wearing of masks while seated is ridiculous, and it appears the enforcement will be even worse. /end rant
Stop going to the games, BOYCOT them!!

Is it just the Box's marshalls? As in how does their treatment of fans differ from those in T.S.? Another option to boycotting games is to bury CPM with your complaints.
quote:
yall act like the marshalls weren't dicks in the pre covid era, what makes you think they'd be any different. This just gives them a new rule to enforce.
My normal seats are out in the right field bleachers, and the marshals out there have always been pretty cool.
Mask wearing is a damn farce. It serves no purpose. If it did then Covid would have been stopped but it is still out there and will be until we have herd immunity. At best Masks may delay some people from getting the virus but it will never make a person immune.

I’ll never forget, 5 Bernie voters show up to the student section about 5 years back. They want to sit “in their seat” in Section 101, right in the middle of the section. Everyone knows section 101 is just a free for all. The Marshall made some frat bros in “their seat” move (They moved one row behind) and made live miserable for the rule followers

C'mon, people. You're making a mountain out of a crawfish hole here.
If the security guys/gals act like Hitler Youth when telling people to mask up, that's one thing. But as long as they do it respectfully, that's their job, that's what they were paid to do. What are they supposed to do -- ignore the policy that their bosses hired them specifically to enforce?
Just find you a comfortable mask. They have them.
Buy yourself a bottle of water and keep it handy, then pull your mask down. If a security guy asks you about your mask, tell him you're drinking your water.
I'm not going to debate the effectiveness of wearing a mask. There have been plenty of articles and TV reports that show mask-wearing DEFLECTS the spread of the airborne virus. Nobody has claimed it PREVENTS the virus. Instead, it helps confine your germs to a smaller area.
To me, that makes sense.
Remember that ceremony in the White House Rose Garden for the new Supreme Court Justice. All of those people were outside, no masks, and a lot of them came down with Covid, including Hope Hicks and maybe Pres. Trump himself. Being outside helps dissipate the germs, but it doesn't completely eliminate them.
Just my opinion. Lots of anger in this thread, when I think they really doesn't need to be. We need to support the baseball team, and I'm not going to boycott the Box because of a policy that's a temporary inconvenience.
The infection numbers are going way down. Some places, maybe even New Orleans with Mayor Latoya, are going to be opening up to 75% capacity soon. Vaccinations, social distancing and mask-wearing will help us end this misery in just a couple more months.

That was my issue. The dude threated to toss out a couple in their 20's because he told the marshal they were just taking a quick picture. That and fussing at parents to make young kids wear them.

Maybe you missed the multiple stories of the marshalls and Landmark "security" yelling at various persons/kids or being rude. The lady down the right-field line had the mask down below her nose as she was yelling at the kids and she got called out on it then had an even bigger attitude.
Everyone knows the guidance by now.. a mask is recommended when one is within six feet of another for 15 minutes or longer while INDOORS. Everyone knows LSU is going over the top with the BS and they don't respect the overzealous guidelines. It's only going to get worse as the season continues.

I have to wear a mask everyday for work. I'm used to it now. Even forget it's on sometimes. Not that big a deal really.

What do you expect LSU is ultra liberal. They are ate up with the BS. Indoor/outdoor, mask effectiveness/ineffectiveness, maintaining distance, LSU doesn’t care.

Let the stadium be slap arse empty a couple of weekends in a row.

That is if LSU is doing any better than .200 ball

I love the Box but I always felt like the staff there was extra a-holeish compared to other LSU venues. I could see this one coming the way they are about other rules and policies.

max of 15 games you can attend on your season tickets. frick THAT.
And they won’t tell you which 16. Just 16 and no 3 game series. Either Friday or sat and Sunday for the few you will get. More than half of the 16 I guarantee are the mid week games.
This shite is getting a little ridiculous and I opted out. I let my football tickets go this season amd did t renew. Baseball may be next

We can take our masks off once seated INSIDE a restaurant, but they must remain on OUTSIDE in a baseball stadium.
Yeah, that's just dumb.
Just be happy Baton Rouge and LSU isn't having to bow to LaToya Cantrell. Nothing but empty green seats behind home plate for Cajuns vs. Tulane in NOLA this past weekend. Was pitiful. I actually felt bad for the Wave for once.

Batters standing less than 6 feet from catcher spitting before each swing. So much for keeping the virus spread close.

The only way to stop it is to quit buying tickets and quit going. Money talks. Enough people stop buying tickets and stop going, and LSU will take notice. Until then, they will continue to be bullies about it.
This. Stop supporting their bull shite and they'll cut it out.

I sat in the grand stand on Saturday and it wasnt too bad. There were a couple people walking around but as long as you had a drink or peanuts or something they didnt say anything. Would go back, wasnt unbearable to me anyway, not saying some of the marshalls or worse than others

they'll have to toss me then cuz I'm not listening to any disrespectful BS. I hearty "frick you" is on the way the first time I hear it. Going down next w/e....interested to see what all the fuss is about.
The full report came out on Friday.
That's how you go out.
